2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

I think he has a lot of upside, I’d rather see Arie still there than a jones for example.
Goes without saying.
Surely Jones has to be gone?

Makes you wonder how he managed to get 12 possessions and 27 hitouts in his only game.

His apparent sin - having a 179 cm small fwd in Izak Rankine Josh Rachele run past him run when he was gassed after a ruck stint n his first game. Shame shame shame!!!!

He didn't get another game for two reasons neither of which are related to his capacity to play as a break glass in an emergency back up ruck in the AFL.

The selectors do not play two rucks and Marshall is not a fwd.

Having decided that Marshall is not a fwd, when they eventually realised our fwd line was full of short people they went with the younger players in Keeler and Heath because like Marshall, Boyd is not a fwd.

That said - change of rules regarding no bounces will make it very hard for him and others non mobile rucks like him - Riley O'Brien, Sean Darcy etc

Strange post. I made no mention of Josh Rachele running past him. I can't even remember that but do remember how slow he looked throughout that game and every other time I watched him play. He was like a 6 footy 7 sloth.

There's probably a fair reason why he's just been delisted from a club that is also losing two mature rucks, despite him massing a huge twelve possession game once.

Good luck to him if he does make it into another list but I'm positive Freo fans will have their fingers very tightly crossed they don't have injuries to the two rucks ahead of him.

And what happens if 2024 ends up being the best season of his career- which St Kilda missed out on, because we're getting him at 24 years old at the end of 2025?

And we're also missing out on drafting an 18-year-old who might become a strong contributor well before the age of 24 (like Nas, Windy, Owens) and may play 15 years for St Kilda?
Bro, there is less risk in a 24yo that’s been in the AFL system for several years than 18 yo that isn’t fully mentally or physically developed. It’s the most speculative age bracket to gauge elite level talent.

Rumour has it that we're interested in your former player Harry Boyd as some cheap ruck depth after trading Liam Reidy.

Is he any good? He'd be playing WAFL 99% of the time, but safe to say he'd at least be an upgrade?
Don’t waste a list spot. He has literally no useful attributes.

These campaigners on Trade Radio have spent the last 5 minutes looking at who has been drafted with pick 7 for the last 5 minutes...
Bunch of dumb pricks, totally irrelevant given it is considered a weak draft and it won’t be pick 7 when the selection is taken.

Absolute oxygen thieves

So what went wrong with Flanders this year?

3rd in GC B&F and 44 coaches votes in 2024. This year not so much.

Midfield- Rowell, Anderson and Touk Miller. Backs Rioli and Noble. Forward Long and Humphrey. Also playing with a bad back.

I think this will end up one of those fortuitous situations where we found a gun on the cheap. If he’d had a year like 2024 at a Melbourne club, the hype would have made him unaffordable.

I honestly think we're trying to show we're a serious football club, both to other clubs and to players across the board.

That and it’s a bargain so we should lodge and run before they change their mind.
