2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Bloody hell, great to have TDK and JSOS on board, they sound like rippers.

Can we trade out the interviewer for someone who can actually speak? This bloke is either drinking on the job or is just so excited to meet these guys that he is just blabbering. Calm down mate!

Maybe the music could be a bit less prominent too.

Don't want to be too critical, the important part was the player and in both videos they spoke really well, could give Nas a few lessons!

5 players have asked to leave GCS
Kinda interesting
It is interesting considering they are on the up.
Tbh I don’t think I’d like working with that sooky coach either.

Not too happy to hear that Marshall has requested a trade to Geelong but understandable with us recruiting TDK.

He will still be the greatest NZ born player to ever represent St Kilda, I think he only has Savage for competition.

RoMa the GOAT & future 3rd rounder for -> picks 18 and Geelong's 2025 1st round pick

Pick 7 (1,644 points), pick 18 (985 points) & Butler for -> Flanders & pick 14 (1,141 points).

From a points perspective, that's about a 1,450 upgrade or equivalent of pick 9 and Butler for Flanders.

Look at moving the Geelong future first to Hawthorn for CMac as part of what will have to be a massive price for Merrett.

OUT

RoMa
Butler
Pick 7
Future 3rd

IN

Flanders
CMac
Pick 14 (Greeves, Robey, Mini Pou)

RoMa getting pushed out by TDK (freebie), Butler likely getting pushed out by Collard/Liam Ryan. Have I done it? Am I the list manager now..???
How about Roma, Steele and Butler and Pick 7 for Flanders and Humphrey.

Honestly, I was so big on trading Steele + Marshall when it looked like we were going full re-build (before Naz broke out and we started attracting players to win over the next 2 years) but geez it's hard to pass up keeping Steele if he's wanting to stay and free of the captaincy, even if it's for depth.

If he wants to be here, compete and fight for a spot - good!

I WILL say however, the revisionist history is already starting RE his leadership - and while we certainly dont see what happens off the field - we lacked leadership in the midfield and have for a long time. His captaincy looked from the outside like it left alot to be desired and he dropped his head constantly during games - a fresh start for him and our midfield group is going to work wonders.
Well said.

Ok done my work on the Marshall thread. So many deranged Blues and Bulldogs posters over there.
We have really upset them. Us calling the Bulldogs unserious as really upset a few of them 🤣🤣🤣
They are rabid. Funnily enough the only ones talking sense are Geelong supporters. The Dogs fans are so pissy, it is very funny.

Geez looking at the Geelong list there is thin pickings from a player perspective in terms of our needs given their age profile. This year and next year first? Back in them sliding and going past them?

It is just really hard to see how this deal gets done. If we scratched our head for a month over Port and the Crows getting Nas done, this actually seems even harder without us bending over. From all of the words coming out of the club and all the positivity that would be disappointing so can't see it.

SDK and Geelong's first rounder would be acceptable compensation for Marshall, SDK is the sort of defender we could do with.
You would rather next years first.

With the changes to the NGA + F/S bidding system, pick 18 as en example could end up a few picks below that.

This year will see it blow out the other way.
