Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Off topic but we traded one of those picks for an unknown Tom Hickey when we could have just saved it and drafted Grundy. That was a garbage decision at the time even without the benefit of hindsight and it's only gotten worse with time.

Hickey may have been unknown to you at the time but I recall many of us being pretty happy to get him.

He’d played a cracker of a game against us earlier that season & looked like a great get.

As for Grundy, it was a massive shock that GWS didn’t take him in the top 10.

Re Godson.

in terms of projecting as many know I’m an unashamed fan. Throughout the year watching his training and VFL I quickly became comfortable adjusting our entire ruck strategy around him.

I don’t think we as fans quite appreciate what he could be. He was pulling things off in the VFL what take most young ruckman 3/4 years to achieve. He had a couple BOG performances. Even his debut Ik he got subbed but you could see in the half his awareness and coordination was already up to scratch. He picked up the speed immediately. Incredibly rare for a young ruckman.

It has made me comfortable losing Ro even though I’d prefer a Ro x Godson combo than TDK. I think he will force his way in especially if Max is not ready yet.

How’s the big Godzilla having 8 (or 7) touches in the first qtr in game 1.

We don’t need any more trade ins. Just Zill and Nas and clear everyone else off the oval. Flag.

Maybe next year at St Kilda he'll be 5th....

Playing super coach in 2024 and having Flanders as a stupid sexy gun in my side I can tell you I watched him very closely and he was an absolute stud and worth every bit a top 10 pick I’m actually pinching myself we have him even though he had a down 2025 due to being played out of position and injury derailing his pre season.

Make no mistake we have an absolutely seriously good player who will plug straight into our midfield.

If we used Pick 7 at the draft and lets be honest it’s probably going to be pick 12 I’d be wrapped if they developed to the standard that stupid sexy Flanders played in 2024.

1 final stat last year stupid sexy broke the record for most possessions for a suns player across a season beating the great Gary Ablett averaging over 30 a game.

I’m pumped and couldn’t be happier and nobody’s going to bring me down.

He’s had one more elite season than most of our players over the last 15 years. Plenty didn’t even have a good season before being delisted.

Who cares. We’ve zigged when we should have zagged for 15 years. People that are pessimistic are more realistic than the happy clappers. I think we are on a much better path this time but we won’t know until we see it in action. I’m feeling positive but I get why others are still suspect.

Moose is gone.

He is the categoric number 2 at Melbourne.
He might start as the 2 with us. But Dodson will eclipse him and that is known by him.

I love Moose but it’s better for both for him to move on. We are getting very tight for list spots. Keeler and Dodson are going to have to stand up and that’s not a bad thing. Moose might be a lot more established if he’d had that opportunity

I’m happy to keep him but Flanders, Garcia and Windy are probably pushing him down the order. He’s too good to sit outside our best 22. If he wants to stay and fight it out I’m happy but understand if he wants to keep his career going.

I'm happy if Steele stays. Often players of his calibre have a golden year when their body comes good. Hard as nails. 24th - 25th on the list, heavily front loaded. Plenty to like about him sticking with us.

If Jack is still hungry for it enough to wear the jumper in the VFL, and earn a spot, then the competition that creates is worth its weight in gold. That needs to be the standard

Not me. Happy to get Flanders for 7 because the time is right to top up now and go for broke. Last year I would have taken X Lindsay with one of our picks but still happy we got Trav, just really needs to tidy up his disposal whereas Lindsay was already an elite kick.

Many still nervous about quick fixes, Flanders obs much better than most but still not gonna shift the dial to multiple finals wins on his own. More important is improvement and growth amongst the young guns. And a good injury run.
