2025 List Management Discussion - Part 5

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Jed Walter, Sam Marshall, Ryley Sanders, Max Gruzewski, Mark Keane, Rhyan Mansell all players who could move. We should be interested in pretty much all of them IMO

Mark Keane would solve our full-back problems

Gruzewski would be a great get. He plays a lot taller than his height. He's a lot like Jake Stringer in style. It's a shame that Wardius did a knee, he looked fantastic in the VFL last year. Averaged a bit over 3 goals a game in his 11 matches.

How could JW be a free agent already? Feels like they only just drafted him. Wasn't he in the 2023 or 2024 draft?
2023 draft,so at end of season would have played 3 seasons, not sure how it goes with draftees, but fa after 3 seasons seems about right, guess some are signed asap longer term, others not,i know there was some change recently, but im sure there not forced to stay longer than 3 years

Is free agency after 8 years of service or am I missing something? He'd have to be a trade I imagine still?

I raised it several years ago when Max King started having ongoing injuries and got shot down.

I wonder if those same people would be as strong on not trading Max say if Tassie come knocking?

Get him going for the 2nd half of the year and cut the cord would be my call. He simply cant be relied upon and he probably needs a fresh start as much as the club does.

He would still attract a reasonable offer particularly to a newly starting club like Tassie. The club needs to continue to be ruthless with their list calls.

To me the one we need to target is Shanahan. Saints fan playing is a team unlikely to improve this year. If we could shake him out before he settles in it would be huge. He looks a bankable 70 goal power forward.
Yeah that’s not a bad shake. I was hoping we nabbed him but went two picks before ours

For the right price sure, and Tassie might pay up for a marquee name even an injured one. But would need an option to come in or Keeler/Caminiti/Tauru to really show something as a forward
