2025 List Management Discussion - Part 5

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Hope not just 1 paced mid and not the answer and is injury riddled
Humphrey yes

He's not really one paced, just injury prone. One paced suggests a stodgy inside player. He's a slowish running player with massive endurance and uses it well and can hold on to the ball. He's still only 25 so young but his body seems stuffed. From Max King's draft. To me he's an A grader but a vanilla one that is super consistent.

Toot & Rye is full of Greeks, wonderful people, always guaranteed a big basket of veg and homemade Rakia. They tend to retire down there, along with everyone else. There's always been a small but strong Italian local population. It's good to get in with them...they know all the secret fishing spots.

With both the Greeks and Italians on the Peninsula homes the are in the main just holiday homes. Some may then retire down there, but by then their kids are adults anyway.

I have known the area for over 50 years, and a lot of that population were my Builder Father's main clients as a large builder mainly operating from Safety Beach to Portsea.

I know i've been banging on about the 2027 draft class...here is an educated opinion, including listing some of the absolute elite talent. While 2026 and 2028 both look decent, 2027 is where clubs will be investing heavily.

WA, VM, Sydney, Tassie and Brisbane consider this their best groups for some time (Tassie best ever), while VC and SA have some real top-end talent but fall away a little in depth. Suggestions there could be up to 100 selections (across all formats) from this draft class.

I wonder if the AFL will still allow Tassie to access these kids if they havent started or got approval for the new stadium? I assume the AFL intend on holding them to the stadium caveat for their licence.

Gee it would be nice if we could rely more heavily on home grown, drafted A grade talent to take us to the top of the mountain rather than salivating on paying overs for high end talent from other teams with questionable fitness.

Pipedream - I know.

You mean like Nas, Wilson, King, Pou, Tauru, Travaglia, Garcia, Box, Windy etc?

Hardly a pipe dream

An independent today pledged support for the stadium…I think it’s almost a fait accompli
