Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

but you presented the argument: jack steele is not an AFL quality midfielder anymore. you can't average 20 disposals a game and expect anything decent.

we need him off the books ASAP as it aint getting any better.

its like owning a 4x4. you've been living at the beach in it. you take it in for a service and they tell you the chassis is rusted out. so still owe 30k on. so you go to market and the best offer you can get is 20k. 18k below the going rate for a standard 4x4. do you pass on that deal? or are you smart enough to know the car is cooked and offloading it for 20k and taking the 10k loss is better than a 30k loss when other shit starts going wrong as well like the wiring/electrics.

The fact he is averaging 20 touches a game is exactly why we want him off our books.

I likened the trade value to Jack MacRae who was on 700k and not in their plans.

Very similar to Jack who was on big money and wasn't in our plans. I was spot on again.

i'm confused as to what you're arguing about?

i think everyone was in favor of the macrae deal, myself included. macrae was still racking up big VFL numbers and more footy left in him.

mate if you were spot on again, we'd have a midfield consisting of zac jones and hunter clark with zac williams having been acquired from GWS.
