Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

I don't see it like that. It is freeing up extra space to be used on young players we have coming up for new deals or a play for a big fish like Butters, Walsh etc. Steele doesn't really have a spot anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, really sad Steely is going. Gave his all for us.
But our LM aren’t paid to be sentimental in a professional organisation.
We can’t play both him and Macrae going forward.

In my best 23, I had Boxshall and Steele out of the side. I'd rather get games into Boxshall, so he really was surplus to needs.

A future, future 3rd was probably worst case scenario.

Hopefully we have that money put away for a quality free agent next year.

We told him to explore his options. We were never going to haggle on this one.

He is a hard hard player, not silk but he has a crack and makes the team better. He has been our not silk but reliable hard nut.
