Oh, Adelaide definitely had the PSD in their thinking.

They have form for this, against both GWS and Sydney in the past.

There are very few straight talkers in AFL clubland or the media. Everyone is pushing an agenda and happy to misspeak to push their narrative.

This includes Ambrogio. When asked why he thought Cal was wanting to move to Adelaide, he deflected and said he didn’t know and best to ask Cal.

We all know Cal wants to be near his family, who have moved to SA, and that Adelaide are offering a longer and more lucrative deal than we are.
What family of his are in Adelaide? His wife and kids were living with him in Wynnum a few months back.

I've no problem if they have decided thats where they want to live... but presumably if the big money offer came from elsewhere theyd probably move with him

It is 100% money and that's fine.

If Cal and his manager were smart they would entertain offers. Could get more $$$.

I think the problem is the deal was agreed over 4 months ago, he's begun uprooting from Brisbane. Other states aren't really an easy option anymore.

My perspective on this is that he'll be getting plenty of money to play on a good team.

People talk about West Coast or Port as alternatives, I don't buy it. Let's say West Coast could offer an extra 100-200k, would that turn his head versus a contending team like Adelaide? Probably not at that point, especially if he has prepared the move to Adelaide already.

He will 100% get to Adelaide, it's why I find the Crows supporters who have been crying up a storm just embarrassing.

Must admit, Ah Chee is completely complicit in this mess and his reputation has significantly been tarnished as a result.

Ah Chee is a smart guy and is no meathead and full well knows how this works.

The fact he is happy for Brisbane to receive nothing shows his true character. He could do what Baker at WCE did and say to Adelaide / his manager that he won't leave unless Brisbane is rightfully compensated. Again, he knows how this works. Why wasn't he pressuring his manager and Adelaide in saying he wouldn't leave if they don't come up for a fair trade, which clearly Brisbane made?

Either way, he's sadly showing what a self-interested character he really is.

We don't run our list management through media feeds. The fact we have gone silent after trade week still gives me hope. Let it play out, PSD is 21st November - nearly a month away.

Would be really interested to see Tunstill in the backline. He's not a direct replacement for Starcevich but he's a smart footballer who's a nice size and a good user of the ball. He's unlikely to break into the midfield considering the depth and queue to get in but he has all the attributes of a solid backman.
Being clean with his hands, having a good contested game and having good disposal means he should be getting games somewhere in the side.

Of course they will, the manager is on a percentage right. It would be a lack of due diligence on his part not to, unless Cal specifically said no. Pretty sure Cal is a bit taken aback by how little the crows valued him in a trade. At the end of the day elite athletes go where the grass is greener, their ability to set their families up only exists for a short window.

Agree to disagree, the guy was getting ok money to play with the best team. he's leaving because the crows offered more. If any other club came and said an extra 100-200k a year for 5 years he would take that in a heart beat. He's got two premiership medals he wants for no extra glory, but an extra 500,000- 1m to finish his career on, well that can help your family a whole lot.

Just had a look on the Cal board.....there are still some bitter pills over there. I thought they would've been rejoycing at the prospect of getting him for nothing...... So hopeful of a Port or WCE sneaky move

Edit: but most of all hope Cal goes well whichever the club it is he ends up at.

Tunstill to become the new Lester and one year deals from here on out?

His parents from what I’m lead to believe.

Cal will go into the PSD with a contract ready.
Likely the same as what Adelaide previously would have agreed to with his manager
They could change it a bit to have the first-year front ended but it is highly unlikely that the overall money and timeframe would change
................................................
FROM AFL
"As a previously listed player, Ah Chee can set the financial terms of his contract when he nominates for the draft, meaning he could demand a salary and tenure that he knows Adelaide could satisfy, but other clubs are unlikely to."
................................................

All clubs will know what's in the contract as the details would come from the AFL from my understanding.
So that would mean the AFL has agreed the terms will be approved by them.

If any club wants to pick him up on those contract terms, they could just take him.
However, clubs may not want to take a player that's reluctant to go there.

Cal indicated he wants SA. Port easily has the cap space having missed out on NWM. If i was Port i would take him
.
Also, his manager who people are blaming, can easily contact the 13 clubs before the Crows pick and see if they are interested. He can then discuss them (if any) with Cal to see if he is okay with any of those clubs picking him up.
If Cal says he won't like playing for "insert club" his manager sends that message back to said club. They could still pick him up but unlikely.

Before the PSD starts Cal will know where he is headed
Some posters are thinking there will be clubs negotiating dollars and tenure but that won't be the case

It is 100% money and that's fine.
Absolutely. He's unlikely to have had a bug dollar contract ever, and this is probably his last rodeo.

You offer me 25% more to change jobs with the same rough conditions, I'll go hand in my resignation first thing Monday. I cant complain that an AFL player might do the same.
