Fox reporting tonight that the Saints Callum Wilkie is looking to "assess his options" he is an incredibly good player but is 30 years old next year, mature age recruit who has hardly missed a game in his career.

Looking to win a Premiership before retirement?

That would be a Collingwood pick up for sure

Caro is reporting that Wilkie, Rohan Marshall and Windhager are all disillusioned with the way Wanganeen - Millera has been handled as well as the clubs list management in general. Who's in charge

Apparently Greg Swann also gave it to the St Kilda delegation at the AFL commission over the academy rorts according Caro.

Not sure Danny would fall for that one.

I'd be saying make me an offer I can't refuse.

Senior Coach 2027 ??
I wouldn't wish Carlton on anyone, they seem to break everybody that gets sucked in to their web of mediocrity.

Who could have seen all that coming. I know a few people who are Saints fans and who are genuinely lovely people, but the actual club itself and its administrators are absolutely pathetic.

If Starcevich goes as a free agent, I assume we won’t get compensation right? (Because of Oscar Allen)?

Would be sad to see Ah Chee go, but not surprising given we have to delicately balance our list with the youth we've got to (fortunately) accommodate as they progress to their next contracts.

That said, there are others I'd rather lose who are commanding reasonable dollars yet are nowhere near Cal's output currently. Cameron, Doedee (who sadly moved much like Alex Johnson did on the weekend and is absolutely nowhere near senior level despite almost a full year in the reserves), Linc (admittedly on less and out due to injury) and Hipwood all spring to mind as a start.

I agree Ah Chee hasn't been as good this year - both offensively and defensively - but I've a feeling that knee injury he carried into the start of the year hampered his lead up, and has troubled him at times during the year. If he has a full preseason, he will be a very astute recruit for the Crows and one we will miss.

Correct - but this is how it's supposed to work. Starce is an RFA though, so we can match and force a trade - though the risk is we keep him and overpay (unlikely though, these things generally work out).
If he is to leave, and does go to West Coast, they would also want to trade for Starce, otherwise their compensation for Allen is diluted.

The "swings and roundabouts" with trades related to the movement of key personnel comes to mind with Ah Chee being linked to the Crows. Noble comes to us and we recruit Charlie. Murray Davis goes to the Crows and they recruit Ah Chee...I wouldn't be surprised if the Davis connection is at play.

I imagine a 3rd round pick and the added bonus of "Don't bid on Annable" would suffice.

The Crows obviously think the Lions is a happy hunting ground for them.

Considering what we paid for Cal and what he's delivered we've gotten an outstanding return. If Adelaide have made him an exceptional offer I can't see us now matching when we have other players coming in and have bolstered our list with gun youngsters who we'll intend hanging on to.

I'll be very sad if he goes because it's hard to find players of his versatility and durability. He's had a patchy year but I still believe once he gets fully fit again his best footy is ahead of him.

I'm sure Murray really rates him. Seeing nothing has happened this deep into the year you'd have to think we're only line ball to hang on to him.
