Shouldn't have told every one that would listen that we were offering a middling ruckman billions.
Yep. Not exactly good poker players are we?
Although, did the club come out with it or was it leaked by Tdks management to get Carlton to come to the party?

well with that line(trendsetters)"adelaide and port adelaide just havent planned for how good a player he is"

can we take the narrative that we might get royally screwed in a trade,or this primitive he man chest beating pre season draft crap talk off the table?

if he goes,i take that line to mean we will be reasonably compensated and hopefully very well compensated

I think he’s agreed. They’re nutting out the details. He has to know by now - just the media don’t.
Sounded like the club’s increased it to $1.4 million.
Manager squeezing the most he can out of it. ( Good for his pocket too, probably his best payday so far)
They have been on specifics since sos went to Adelaide as Caro said. Club thought it was done and I’m guessing maximus heard similar.

Anyway, it ties in with the reference Dilena gave 3 weeks ago about Ben Williams

What's your feeling on it Stav? Reckon he'll sign a 2 year deal?
2 with a player trigger is my guess.

And seeing as I’m purely giving my thoughts.

If Williams wants Nas on 1.5+m then he can sign a deal the length players do on that money of 5+ years.

But what are the odds that hasn’t been willing discussion point.

Port Power promise to let Houston go half way through the season when they thought they were getting a potential pick 5 and F1 from Melbourne and then recruit Perryman as a FA to replace him on more money than he was on but then shit hit the fan at Melbourne so Houston decided on Collingwood and they had to let him go cheaply as Houston was clearly pissed and then Collingwood also got Perryman.

It would have been a recruiting masterclass but the Temu Collingwood got schooled by the real Collingwood, their fall back trade was Lukosius and gave a F1 for him despite taking on his $1M backend contract but signed him to another 4 years at $1M and also took on Atkins contract. They bent themselves over.
Is there a reason you refer to them as Port Power rather than Port Adelaide?
Asking for a friend.

If Nas wants to stay, the only possible reason for the delay is him (or his manger... whatever) wanting more money.

It's naive (at best) to think he doesn't want to get an extra few hundred grand a year if he can.

Now we are chasing another one in Aleer. Wonder when we will prioritise a forward?

Barrat over Whitlock was an odd call.
I agree, but Barrat did play a bit of a forward role in his draft year? So Barrat is more a swing man like Battle rather than a key position player. Both players will be slow burns in their development.

At least on the Agenda Setters they actually understand the issue that Port have in that they have nothing to trade for him.

Who knows what's going on whether the manager is squeezing us or he's desperately trying to get to Port but the fact remains they need to trade for him and they have nothing.

Or it’s the biggest decision he’s ever had to make lol, could be that he’s putting the decision off simply because he doesn’t want to make it right now. Or think about it

If you believe the scuttlebutt, part of Nas' issue with the Saints was that Keeler & Windy weren't named in our "Future Best Team" that was presented to him.

If we are only offering 1 or 2 year deals to these guys then Port might look to offer them longer deals as a way to entice Nas.

Makes it much harder for us if 2 or 3 of them ask for trades vs just Nas alone.
There must have been a lot of missing spaces on that ‘future best team’ and I wonder how many years in the future.

It’s also pretty short-sighted, he’s probably going to get a 10 year contract, a struggling team now could just as easily be a powerhouse for 8 of those 10 years. If he came and played for us we’d be looking good by next season I reckon.
What about Nth Melbourne?, Richmond?
West Coast are cooked though, I understand him wanting to get out of there.
