Hey guys legit info here, I'm hearing a long term deal is immanent after last night's performance, looking like 8 years at 2mil per year, just waiting on the signature, Byrnes and his manager are meeting this evening so should know more soon

One thing that might give some hope is that every game he plays at the moment his value basically goes up by $100k. We also haven't signed Max Hall which is obviously going to get done, probably because every game he plays his value is increasing.

If there's a point where we hit money-wise that means we get the deal done then yes I'd like to just hit it and get this whole thing over with.

The fact that people like Caro think he'll stay is a positive. But the longer it goes on the more painful it becomes.

If it’s port they can offer us anything they like, we have two choices accept or send him to the draft. Collingwood offered us second rounder and denied us a player swap we wanted from memory. How’d that turn out ? Well that’s what you’re looking at if port choose to play it that way.

I listened to Brian Cook explain this at a lunch once when G Ablett was being courted by Suns ….Cook explained they left the agreeable amount Cats could offer Ablett up to the senior playing group (I think he meant the core of that group eg Bartels etc) and they did this to maintain integrity in the culture they had built and that was team success over all your eggs in 1 players basket for $$

We on the other hand have been yodeling into a megaphone for the past 10 years about some war chest that we can never seem to use, we're courting a ruckman that we don't really need on 1.7 mil / year but you don't think we should stump up for the best player we've seen in 25 years and probably the best player in the comp?

We could find an extra million per year by cutting 2 shit-trucks. Just get it done.

i think you could market the side around Nas and the Viking.

i'm a knocker of steele but if you re-watch Nas first goal before the 6-6-6, you will see it was Steele who came in and urged them on. Nas then ended the celebration and went into the middle.

hats off to Marshall and Steele though. serious leadership. Windy a bit too. Windy with NAS/Marshall. but steele was deep fwd organising the play. had them going left. i think Windy could captain the club one day!

i think it shows why its important we dont trade out the older players. i think we need marshall given Kings issues.

and lastly... melbourne are seriously stupid. Nas actually showed his running pattern before the umpire called him back. he literally ran the same ****ing line a 2nd time.

The players and their agents know what you offered them who else needs to know, what purpose does it serve. We should have said when asked about TDK, contract discussions are confidential but it’s nothing like that. Who said you have to play these things out in public.

Anyway if I played for the saints and I was out of contract I’d want mine that’s for sure. The TDK money if true us crazy, Aleer again if true crazy.
