I guess the Saints in this situation are akin to your wife of 4 years. You have some really strong feelings towards them, shared some good times together, probably will have a nice comfortable future.

The Adelaide clubs are like that first girlfriend you had in high school, never really got over and now has come back desperate for your attention. Risky but irresistible.

We’re in big trouble here.
She's been run through and has the clap. Don't go near her.

If Port are really prepared to pay stupid money $2 million a year and Nas wants to go home to SA then.

I don’t really see much to talk about other than how they propose to get a deal done. If they can’t get butters to sign then trading him a year early will pay for Nas. That’s probably as close as we’re going to come to a win win, not great but it could be worse.

In that scenario the landing place would probably be hawthorn, what other than Carlton’s 1st have they got which would interest us. Could the bulldogs beat that, what have they got, who’s keen on trading out of the 1st round due to father sons or academy’s.

Next time we baulk at moving up for a local star and draft an interstate kid I’m going to loose it. It’s nothing but a hassle with the constant threat hanging over our heads. If the interstate kids are any good it’s a given the home state clubs will come for them. These kids usually have already established contacts, junior mates playing at the club and of course there’s always family.

Totally over being a farm system, this will be 4 years of wasted development. The only out is to risk signing untried but promising kids like Dodson to long contracts, in his case you’d need to offer an extension of 5 years at least. Think about it, he’ll be 3 years in development another 2 starting to show his talents then he’ll be fielding offers from home.

Interesting stat I saw today.

Our midfield is widely panned as no good.

I definitely feel, like most, it can be improved significantly.

But we are actually eighth in the AFL for avg. clearances per match.

Just behind Adelaide and ahead of Geelong. Two flag contenders.

Considering the natural improvement we have in this area going forward with Nas, Hall, Windy, Hugo, Poo and Box - it's not a bad situation to be in.
Quality of clearance also matters, like Max Hall winning the ball and stream out of clearance = quality clearance and leads to a score.

vs Marshall grabs the ball out of ruck and bangs it forward blindly = poor clearance which ends up being picked off and rebounded easily.

i think nas is gone. its round 21 and after a huge win, winning the game, he was either signing this week or he wants to go home. understandable, but we are gonna get screwed in a trade unfortunately, maybe one or two players with ok potential and a few shitty future first rounders. praying im wrong but this just seems like a situation where he'll be requesting a trade to port once we play our final game.

"I am happy playing here," he told AFL.com post-match.

"I've got great relationships with the boys. I love Ross, I love all the coaching staff – I want to be part of something special here at St Kilda."

Wanganeen-Milera has taken his game to another level this season, showcasing his elite foot skills and composure across half-back and further up the ground.

He is sitting sixth in the competition for overall disposals at an average of 28.4 touches per game.

Wanganeen-Milera says the club's next generation is united by a shared hunger to create something special.

"We've got a good young crew, we are all self-driven and want to be the best Saints ever – that's what we are striving for," he said.

Saints playing the final Q on the big screen on Sunday.

Possibly a chance for a sneaky edit at the end
Would be unreal but wouldn’t it be better to drop news early given it’s our final home game and increase attendance

Reckon if it happened tomorrow you’d see a much bigger turnout, move it to the ‘G 🤣

Calming reading

If he did flip and decide to go now it would be a really big heel turn given he’s said none of the usual “I’m leaving” indicators
What are the indicators as he has said F,ck all

they are the same ****ing thing.

our offer is 1.4m a year for 2 years. which is behind the first two years that the crows and port have offered at around 2m a year for the first two.

now the media are stating that he's worth that over 7.

we are massively behind in the bidding war.

we can't go longer term because he's home sick and won't commit.

but we have ample cap room and can easily beat any offer port and the crows put up in the immediate term allowing NAS to earn even more as he gets older.

yet here we are... offerin ****ing peanuts.
FMD 🙄

I have a plan to keep NAZ.
Eric Bana turns Naz and his family into movie stars going forward ..Eric makes a movie about indigenous culture or whatever could be a drama with Naz being a detective or something and the fam are characters...they all make money and have acting careers into their old age.

I wholeheartedly agree. We can speculate all we want, try and make sense of all the hypotheticals, truth is it’s Round f***ing 21 and there’s still no signature. His value has gone up, but surely enough is enough. Nas, we need to know!

I think he is saying why would he say all of that as per the article if he was going. You usually just do the "im just concentrating on my football" platitudes

I personally take whatever they say with a grain of salt , if anyone thinks they are going to tell us anything you're dreaming
