If they don’t sign Evans there’s no place on earth the list management team will be safe.
Just keep Campbell Brown away from him at the end of season trip.View attachment 2402921
I've stayed up all night studying chaos theory, and the only think that makes sense is the plot of Kevin Duran't 2012 cinematic opus, Thunderstruck.
The collision with May has resulted in some sort of osmotic transfer of All Australian ability, resulting in the modern day Leigh Matthews we've had charging around in Navy Blue this past month.
If what I suspect is true, and Frankie has stolen May's juju, we will see May run out in round one next year and have a dozen or so kicked him, while Frankie continues his unlikely asencion to GOAT.
Stay tuned.
Haven't had a Coleman since 2023, so 2 in 2026 would be nice...Id be seeing if we could get Coleman from Brisbane seems to have falling out of favour but his best is elite and his ball use coming out of our backline would definitely help us

Delist Lemmey and Cincotta? My preferred list changes (assuming TDK and Silvagni are gone)
Retire - Docherty, Fantasia
Delist - Cincotta, Fogarty, Lemmey
Trade/FA - Silvagni, TDK, Acres, McGovern
Re-sign to 2026 - Wilson, F. Young, Charleson, Haynes, Monohan, Duffy, White
Re-sign to 2027 - Evans, Motlop
I think the above allows us to elevate Lord and HOK whilst keeping Evans, White and Young
I don’t see the harm in keeping Monahan and Duffy for another year due to being Cat B, hopefully they can develop into something - but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were gone

That’s remarkable given how important he was considered before his knee injury.Id be seeing if we could get Coleman from Brisbane seems to have falling out of favour but his best is elite and his ball use coming out of our backline would definitely help us
Notes from Jon Ralph article today about Carlton (behind paywall):
-
- Carlton would love Silvagni to stay but are losing hope of that being a case as the contract is still unsigned after 3 months.
- Believes we will clear > 2M in salary cap
- Carlton in talks with Haynes and Kemp
- Club has told McGovern his non-selection in RD24 was not to do with his trigger. Club has told it's players they wanted to play the youth in the last five weeks of the season.
- Club has had talks with Motlop in recent weeks and he will consider his future but the club believe he is keen to re-sign and the club want him to.
- Will consider the futures of White, Fantasia and Evans in the coming days who are also un-signed
There’s already evidence for this.View attachment 2402921

The collision with May has resulted in some sort of osmotic transfer of All Australian ability. Frankie being much smaller has further distilled those abilities, resulting in the modern day Leigh Matthews we've had charging around in Navy Blue this past month.

Interesting, however you would have to by gulible to believe that Mitch not being selected had nothing to do with his trigger.
How we use the 2m is interesting, no free agents of real interest are left so do we have a trade target or bank it for a crack at a FA next year, looking at who is a restricted free agent at the end of 2026 names of interest
- Zac Bailey
- Sam Switkowski
- Jarman Impey (might be too old)
- Liam Ryan
- Rhylee West
Zac Bailey & Rhylee West would be top of the wish list IMO, both would be underpaid at their current clubs and could be lured without blowing the bank on a player like Butters but would improve us out of sight.
Fantasia needs to go, between his body and his ability we need to move past this type of player. Frankie has earnt another year and be happy to give White a rookie spot. Please keep all 3

Cinc's limitations are clear, we cant hold a player whos only role is a lock down tagger. We learnt with Ed Curnow that modern footy doesnt have room for this type of player anymore. Lemmey just looks that far off it that its hard to see it turning, have to cut the chord eventually.Delist Lemmey and Cincotta?![]()
He can mark, Pitt doesn’t.Have been a bit underwhelmed with O'Keeffe's forward work since he has returned to the senior side. Thought his urgency and aggression was really poor last night.
I like him alot & appreciate he's young and raw but boy he has absolutely no idea what he's doing inside 50.
Whenever we have the ball from a mark or free kick forward of centre he is often in 'no mans land' loping back towards goal with his back to the play. Secondly, for some strange reason when he is deeper he doesn't lead at the ball carrier - he leads to the side or often runs back towards goal not understanding the kicker's strengths.
I wouldn't be against paying that for an elite goal kicking mid/half forward, its something we desperately lack.Zac Bailey will, rightly or wrongly, command at least $1m/season for his next contract.

Wilson is re-signed already, Fogarty is under contract, Kemp is also out of contract and not mentioned. My preferred list changes (assuming TDK and Silvagni are gone)

Midfield is weak post clearanceYou would never knock back a player like Butters, however I just dont think our main needs are in our midfield. If we were going to spend the 1.5-2mil it would take to acquire Butters, I would prefer to spread it over areas of need like running half back & small forwards.
I’m a big fan of Cincotta but I fear the writing is on the wall for him. Lemmey should have been given a block of games this year but wasn’t, disappointing for him - would love to keep him but I don’t think we will.Delist Lemmey and Cincotta?![]()
Wilson is re-signed already, Fogarty is under contract, Kemp is also out of contract and not mentioned.
Evans and Motlop are two that I would pen in for 1 year with a 1 year option, rather than the flat 2.
Gothard looks pretty elusive.Options that are gettable trade wise and draft wise. And salary cap wise and it improves our depth.
I’d like Lindsay Going to be harder to get with where we have finished now.
Draft
Lindsay
Dean
Ison
Jordan butts big key back
Hugh Bond lockdown small back
CJ run and carry
Kane Farrell HB?
Phoenix gothard VIC country FP.
Not big names but will be best 22 and provide more depth.
If there are any takers I am sure we would be happy to accommodate it, just not sure there would be.Will be interesting to see if Binns and Boyd look for opportunities else where. Sadly Binns hasn't improved since his 1st season in the reserves
We'll wanna lock in Evans for 2 seasons to see him through until Tassie enters the comp. At which point he'll sign for Tassie as the AFL's first $3m player.Wilson is re-signed already, Fogarty is under contract, Kemp is also out of contract and not mentioned.

I'd also love to see Walsh take over the captaincy next year from Crippa. What to do with Walsh is the interesting thing, is OOC at end of next year but we couldn't possibly offer him a long term big money deal whilst so many questions around his back/body remain but could risk him walking out the door if we dont tie it up soon.
