I’m sensing GW ain’t paying big money anymore moving forward.
Really? Seem a bit young for them

I said supposed statements yeah?Never saw any such ‘statement’ from Walsh directly or indirectly.
Several have said that he doesn’t/didn’t get on with Voss.
Walsh is a leader unlike Cripps. I love Cripps and everything he has put into the club but that comment about the pressure coming off once the players knowing finals was the final straw for me. He is not the guy to drive us to a flag. I think Walsh is our guy.I love you Walshy, make the campaigner Captain.
There wasn’t and you won’t find anything from Walsh saying that. Soapy repeatedly stated he’d heard Walsh was considering his options at the end of last year. Then again this year he tried to intimate Walsh was unhappy with Voss and was going to ask out at the end of this year. When quizzed on it repeatedly by me and others he never responded.Never saw any such ‘statement’ from Walsh directly or indirectly.

Those picks won't be early picks to consider, with a coach in his last year of his contract. This year and next.
once you understand that and that, what Is said as fact is often opinion you will get along better with them and not take everything so seriouslyTo be fair, it was on the back of supposed statements from Walsh like "if Voss is here in 2026 Im out". I was guilty of buying it, in hindsight mistakenly and foolishly.
I love the emphatic nature of his statements.

That’s just bull dust. These players deserve the salary as they took unders to stay and be successful at this club.Good. In all seriousness, who on this list deserves really big money?
None of our stars has been part of a team that has even won 14 games in a season, yet they are paid like they are the best of the best. Weitering, McKay, Walsh are 1x All Australians. That's B+ level performance. Curnow has 3 very good seasons under his belt at age 27, and a whole lot affected by injury. TDK isn't in the top 6 at his position in the league and is getting offers over $1m? Please... Cripps? Might be a scared cow and 2x Brownlow's is obviously rare, so he is the one exception, but again, hasn't got the team past 14 wins and is just a tier below some of the other superstars in terms of impact.
No other club has paid it's own home-grown players more of a premium than Carlton, going right back to Kouta getting the biggest contract in league history on the back of 18 months of good form.
About time someone put an end to it. We are trapped in a 30 year cycle 'rebuilding' of rebuilding, overpaying players, losing depth due to salary cap issues, falling short due to a lack of depth and inevitable injuries, then blowing it up and starting again.
If Wright has the balls and capacity to end that cycle then it'll give us a red hot shot at actually improving...
Bad backI’d love Flanders
X factor , good ball user and finds it
I said supposed statements yeah?

I used inverted commas.I said ‘statement’ (‘’)
Be fantastic for us off the HBFHighly doubt Sam Flanders will be at Gold Coast next year. Not sure if he fits our profile.
Having a crack at posters for suggesting player trades is a bit short sighted and probably a flow on effect from our long history of shit list management.
At the end of last year Charlie had kicked 50+ goals and led the Coleman for most of the year before belatedly being sent for surgery after playing injured.
There's still no way that you trade Charlie in the 2024 trade period.
Weitering wouldn't be replaceable in our backline.
Harry can be a match winner with his marking ability.
Crippa had just produced an all time great season.
It was no different to this season where the media vultures came for Charlie, Harry and Walsh as well.
At the end of 2025 the game has seen slight changes in style.
Walsh's strengths are now more valuable than ever, so he's an essential player.
The changes to the game have left some doubts over others.
The game and its necessities are always evolving.
Good clubs always reassess as required and are prepared to lose something of value to get ahead of the rest of the comp.
This is a forum for ideas and debate.
3+3 =6, but so does 2x3, and 7-1.![]()

Sydney 1st pick this year could move out to 12, they could very well make finals next year so not exactly early picks.
I’d love Flanders

DoubtfulIf he explodes in the next year or two, they got him cheap and we'll look stupid.
Just like Tdk with usNAS won’t be there after his contract is up.If he was ‘committed’ he’d sign long term.
