As much as it pains me to say this SOS and dodoro are cut from the same cloth.
Dodoro was the most pig headed, flawed and petty list manager to have stood the test of time (also the most underperforming).
It seems SOS wants to continue that trend.

Potential, i'd say this is almost a certainty. I agree with Toby Greens comments, you can't perform at a high level by paying a player $2m, let alone paying two players $3.8m (21.5% of the salary cap on 2 players).

I deleted a post i made last night before the mods deleted it for replying to the troll St. Kilda fan.

I'll repost this here without it coming over as feeding the trolls as I felt it would:

I posted on my FB wall last night wishing TDK well. I'm still a fan and genuinely happy for him. I don't blame him for taking the money at all. I feel that I've been pretty clear on that here.

However, there was an interesting response to it that I included in the deleted post.

I received a PM about Tom from a Carlton identity who shall remain nameless. They're not your typical grumpy ex-footballer. He dearly loves the club, is usually positive about it even in the face of disappointment, etc..

"Tom is the only beneficiary of Stephen Silvagni spending $14 million of somebody else's money to say **** you to Carlton."

It's beyond him and within the walls if the Saints board and leadership is happy for SOS to play his vendetta out and risk the Saints cap, future dealings with other clubs, then the lot of them are just as culpable. What's SOS angry at? he was happy to accept Elliot's paper bags, and squilled when AFL came knocking. We re-opened our arms back to him, gave him a job and a remit to rebuild, drafted two of his sons, have been very fair in offering JSOS what he's worth on the market through each contract.

If the club can't reign him in, hopefully his mum or Jo have some sense and have a nice chat to him.

I don't reckon it's necessarily SOS - I think it comes from above.

Like North, they haven't been able to attract a big fish and I think they have become a bit obsessed with it. I reckon SOS said TDK is gettable and the club said "do what whatever it takes to get him". clearly, TDK wasn't unhappy at Carlton and without the St.Kilda offer would have stayed at say $1m but to get him to move, and ward off Geelong, they need the $1.8m.

Same as NWM (who's not even a new player) - the board said we just can't afford to lose him.

Spot on - it’s a loss for us and a loss for St Kilda. TDK and his manager are the winners.
