Free agency is the biggest sccam ever. A club gets a free agent but every other club has to pay for it. St Kilda get TDK for no charge but every pther club pays for it by being shuffled down the draft order. Geelong and Pies don't care about the draft( and have made it well known) they just poach ready made players while every other club pays the compensation. This is why a lot of clubs will struggle to get out of the bottom 10. If they deem Oscar Allen to be worth a pick 2 then Brisbane should be made to pay WCE the points equivelant to a pick 2 starting with their best pick in the draft until they can satisfy enough points for a pick 2. It's just an example but every club being made to pay for 1 other clubs free agent pick is ridiculous.

It’s a fair point, i raised that free agent compo shouldn’t be in the first round, have band 1 start at pick 19.

Just remove free agency completely and let the market dictate compensation through a trade when a player is out of contract.

No need to have two systems in place, although the Players Association would never approve abolishing free agency.

I really can't see a drastic F/S change happening next year...

They might remove the discount, come up with a way that makes it more expensive... but removing F/S from first round...

That would be a ridiculous thing to do... can just imagine players being picked at the "end of the first round" to prevent clubs from getting them under F/S...

Dillon is so close to losing his job, I doubt he’ll want to have to have to defend the AFL in a costly, lengthy & most likely un-winnable court case with one of its most important clubs.

We need height down back and we need it now!!! Liam Jones is the perfect replacement for a year while HO'F rehabs and Harry D on training wheels.

We'll likely get him as a DFA so won't cost anything except for base salary. And here's the kicker...if we rookie list him, his base salary is outside of the cap, so will cost nothing in draft picks or salary.

He's not a defender he's a third tall forward according to the Dogs board,he's a leading forward,good mark and a decent kick for goal.
