OK so that is 6 games that according to your logic he lost off his own boot by kicking 4 or more behinds.

Only fair then to compare that to games where he has kicked 4 or more goals to determine games he won off his own boot.

Games where Curnow has kicked 4 or more goals = 47 games.

Hardly 'almost lost as many as he won'.
In how many of those games was he the target for more than 50% of our inside 50s?

There was a report the Pies were looking at trading for Hawks first pick (now ours) a few days ago so I reckon its a possibility.

Pies seem intent on doubling down so good chance they go for the sugar hit and aim to finish higher.
This would be a dream result for us. The Pies 2026 season has a high probability to turn pear shaped imo.

3 first round picks to do some damage next year! Cody + ?

I thought that Essendon's list spots were just as tight as ours, especially after taking 2 in the SSP and 4 in the MSD. Not sure if they'd be keen on splitting one of their high picks if they don't have the space.

They may offer up picks 5 and 6 to WCE for pick 2 and a future pick, and just keep their later picks for their two academy boys.
With 3 picks in the 20's, Essendon will have to use 2 of them of their Academy picks. They won't use their last 2 picks, but they will make 4 selections (or do they expect their guys to be bid on that early?). That means more delistings.

Other than one piece of footage, have we seen anything else of Kempy?

They do take a long time to recover form ie around 18 months to regain full confidence
Zac Williams done his in January 2018 and made it back to play finals that year at gws after a couple of games in the twos

If we only cut 1 more, then we have to upgrade a rookie, and we would only have 2 list spots, and 2 ND picks.
The rookie upgrade would make this acceptable to the AFL, but your numbers are wrong.

And it’s also wrong to consider our rookies as separate, given we are currently oversubscribed.
No it's not wrong.

I'm not sure why you don't understand to be honest

I’d like to keep White and Young (Flynn if I had to choose between them).

As others have said, don’t understand why they don’t just pay out Binns given we’re now oversubscribed in his role and I’m not sure he has the attributes for AFL. I’d also pay out Fog, who is likely to play VFL all year otherwise.

And, if there is an issue between Boyd and the coach, he’d be a third. Even if there isn’t, there are multiple players ahead of him.

Do it now rather than doing it, inevitably, in 12 months.

(FWIW, I'd keep Gov for another year because he offers more than the other 3. I'd also love to keep Lij, but that ship may have well and truly sailed).

Almost a week after trade period reflections.

Really happy overall, we lost quality but also brought in quality and addressed areas of need. TDK and Charlie lacked defensive bones so even though we will lose a lot offensively, defensively and overall I think we improved our best 22, even before thinking about the draft pick haul.

The one gripe I have is that we didn't land a better ruck. Reidy hopefully becomes a gun, but from what Ive read he will most likely be a backup to Pitto. Ruck is something which I wish we addressed even if it cost a but more.

saints held onto Marshall for one for year so he can come to us next year :p

Wouldn't stress too much about the ruck, Lions had Darcy Fort.

As long as Reidy can reach C grade level, we'll be just fine imo

Not the worst outcome. The only issue with Marshall is his age, but rucks seem to be able to last reasonably well.
It will be very interesting to see how our ruck combo works next season. I admit I haven't seen a lot of Reidy, and what I saw I was not overly impressed with, but how he develops with us is something I will follow closely.

You can’t just pay players out because we don’t like them.
