AFLW 2025 - AFLW Trade and Draft - All the player moves
Due to a number of factors, support for the current BigFooty mobile app has been discontinued. Your BigFooty login will no longer work on the Tapatalk or the BigFooty App - which is based on Tapatalk.
Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
You have 6 players in that starting 18 that need to be replaced for us to be anywhere near top 8 let alone top 4.We need to bring in Longmire and bring in a running half back with a good disposal and should be good for a crack at Top 4.

1.4 millionWhat are they offering NWM?![]()
![]()
So they are paying 2 players 17.5% of the cap in 2026?1.4 million

If you go off pure media talk, Saads contract was $600,000-$650,000, Cerras contract was reported as similar.Yep. 6 at close to or around $1m each.
Docherty*, Saad, Williams, Hewett's new contract, Cerra on a bit less but still significant money.
Pittonet and Acres probably at above average salaries too.
Everybody else seemingly fighting for crumbs.
Anybody coming into the club and looking at that is going to be in for a rude awakening.
Despite some people thinking otherwise, not every other team is so out of alignment as that. It's too much of a long tail. It's why our 15-30-ish ranked players look poor compared to the premiership contenders.
At least there's some really good quality youth coming through.
They have 3 years of saved salary cap that needs to be spent. At a guess, Iād say they have approx 2 plus million that they will spend in 2026 that wonāt go against their 2026 salary cap. It maybe more like 7.5% (if that) they will spend from their 2026 cap for the 2 players in 2026So they are paying 2 players 17.5% of the cap in 2026?
All I have to say to them is![]()
Sos will screw another listā¦..So they are paying 2 players 17.5% of the cap in 2026?

If I remember correctly freo offered acres 2 years at 180k think we offered 360kIf you go off pure media talk, Saads contract was $600,000-$650,000, Cerras contract was reported as similar.
Hewett as a free agent got Sydney band 4 compo as his deal was reported at only $400,000, Iām sure his new deal is improved though.
Acres left Fremantle as the deal they offered was low to the point that he said they clearly donāt want me, this doesnāt mean heās not getting paid well here but I canāt imagine heās on big $$$
Williams however has always been reported at $900,000 and then it makes me wonder if our big earners are all on more than $1M, we all assume $1M but who knows.
Sounds about right, which to me suggests our big earners are getting paid more than what we all expect. If I remember correctly freo offered acres 2 years at 180k think we offered 360k
Yeah I believe so. I think Jsos is on very little to atm. Wasnāt he told to shop himself around 2 years ago but no takers and signed for Bare minimum?Sounds about right, which to me suggests our big earners are getting paid more than what we all expect.
We have a disproportionate amount in the 900+ range. On avg across league it is 2-3 players on 900+, i would guess we have closer to 6. There in lies the problem. Not even close

The highest paid players in the AFL as rich list revealed
More players than ever before were paid more than $1 million last yearwww.afl.com.au
Itās a sad indictment on our players that these switches can be turned off & on in quarters of footy.100%. Pre season they were all good. Sadly, by even after Richmond game cracks emerged and quickly.
As I said some just have personal agendas and I am not interested

The head isnāt helping him to make space from contests or avoid being tackled. Never seen such regularity of this - frustrating ASF to see game in, game out.No one complained about Motlop when he was kicking important goals in the SF in 2023.
The ability is there. It's all in the head.
Composure & execution, components lacking across the board @ CFC, unfortunatelyToo my eye, he needs to just slow it all down a fraction. I think he rushes everything he does and either falls over, fluffs the disposal, runs into trouble, or fumbles. He gets to the right spots and creates opportunities, just lacks a bit of composure and I feel like if it slowed down just that little bit, composure will come along with better outcomes for him.

HmmmmmApparently Nick Haynes has been vocal lately about lack of structure and game style. We practice things so much less than they did at GWS
Be great to hear more of his opinion and differences
This is a bigger problem than the coach in my opinion. Has been a common theme since the latest rebuild started. The playing group seem to ālose trustā very quickly, how long do you you reckon before the same thing happens with the next coach?
IMO, there needs to be a bomb dropped underneath this playing group and Iām all in on investigating ways to do this
2024 we lost our one wood contested game quite alarmingly but on the flip side we became a top quadrant turnover team that scored with ease. That doesnāt happen without tinkering of the game plan, just doesnāt.
I think the plan was to reestablish the contested game which is in and around the coalface at stoppages, which really shouldnāt affect the turnover game in open play.
So, weāve had a focus on defense, then layered on a very clear focus on the contest, then tried to layer on a focus on the turnover game and this year was most likely trying to mesh all those phases of the game together.
The players have failed dismally, and now theyāve lost ātrust".
