Yep, always interested in who'll potentially be pulling on the navy blue...you only tend to get excited if it a big name.
Unfortunately for us this year, the outgoings have totally taken over the narrative.
So the latest according to the media is:
Campbell Chesser
Buku Khamis
Ned Reeves
Liam Reidy
Malcolm Rosas
Sam Flanders
Jack Petruccelli (DFA)
Am I missing anyone?
Would a hypothetical trade like this work.
Charlie to suns for:
Walter/Flanders and their first round pick?
The first three make sense on some levels. Chesser more a shy at the stumps, the other two on positional needs.Yep, always interested in who'll potentially be pulling on the navy blue...you only tend to get excited if it a big name.

Don't need a big name to get excited just a player that will make us better not another plodder or a list clogger got enough of themYep, always interested in who'll potentially be pulling on the navy blue...you only tend to get excited if it a big name.

Walter would be the unlikeliest of any name mentioned in any trade scenario yet.I was thinking the same that Jed Walter would have to be part of the trade as I think he will be a star
With respect Joel this is a mutual feeling
Thank goodness Amartey said no.
Just landed in Kazakhstan and see that we're from runners for Campbell Chesser? What a beautiful day indeed!
I'm not enamoured with Khamis for us as a forward or back due to his being undersized. We love getting third talls to play as second talls.
Chesser is quick enough and his disposal looks decent. Just hasn't shown a heap yet.
Petruccelle is lightning fast as we all know, and he positions himself well to run on to the spillages up forward. Burns the ball when he is too far up the ground though. You don't want him delivering it inside 50 too often.
I have no thoughts on the rucks, not inspired by Rosas and unsure where Flanders fits, but he is prolific. Asking price might be too high.
Pretty much got called an idiot for stating the exact same thing regarding TDK by a poster who cries foul and nicks off when called outYou can't save what you never spent. We are saving what he was on. We don't know how we were intending to shape the list to pay TDK. Perhaps we were going to not re-sign someone we are now re-signing? Perhaps somebody was going to take a salary shave for an extra year. That money set aside can't count against what we might have done, as now we have to replace TDK as well. If we found 400k extra to pay him next year, we might now be paying that to Ned Reeves or Liam Reidy to replace him, instead of a rookie ruck.
Amartey is awful.
Can he leap off the ground to ruck?Whatever we do, IMO, we need to draft Flynn Riley. The kid has it.
Blake Acresā¦Purely out of curiosity what does this board think they can get Chesser for?

Interesting. Tbf months ago he had looked like he wouldn't be able to get back on the field before his contract expired. Personally wouldn't want to be seeing him leave for any less than a second rounder especially given we've got 2 years in front of him, but I am nervous about how it goes. Would've said Bris 2nd rounder or JSOS comp if it was band 3 or 4 but it's looking increasingly likely to be band 2 (maybe even 1???)He has upside but he's been injured, he's out of contract, and even your own supporters say he was close to being delisted only months ago. It's one of those trades that gets done for a late pick.
The guy has huge questions mark re: body. If any team understands the downfalls of trading injured players in, itās us. I would assume we have learnt something over the years, and offer nothing less than a 4th rounder and thatās only if we think his over his current injuries. SorryInteresting. Definitely not wrong, he has only played 36 games in 4 seasons. I personally think he is going to stick around out west either way, but both yourselves and our own board are rightfully weary re: body. The prevailing sentiment is that he's turned the corner but thats being very VERY hopeful imo. Think he showed fantastic stuff in the last month though, and being a former frp I think depending on the contract offers from both clubs we wont let him leave for a 4th. Not necessarily value for Carlton I wouldn't believe if they gave up more than that, but there's no real incentive either for us to trade him for cheap considering we already put the work in you know?Yeah honestly I'm not trying to stir.. I just think when you weigh all the factors up with the injury history and such, it's probably a situation where it's a late pick. Historically the injury prone players get traded for less. If he didn't show a bit in the last month of the season I'm not sure either you or us would be offering a deal. Won't be a 2nd rounder I wouldn't have thought. I'll admit I'm not completely across all our picks but I'd be thinking 3rd rounder.
Charlie needs to speak with his brother to gain some perspective. Ed fought hard for his career, because he knew his position in the team was never guaranteed. Charlie is blessed with natural ability and athleticism that Ed never had.
Charlie can be the barometer for us I remember the game away against GC where he single handedly got us over the line. Where has that Charlie gone?no wonder heās coped some criticism and coach wants more, so do we. He is a leader of this team at the first sign things get a bit tough heās wanting out put your big boy pants on and show some resilience. Wouldnāt be a person on here that hasnāt dealt with some adversity in their lives at some point.
If thatās not possible we move on because Iām not interested in watching a player not fully invested in making team better. Carlton supporters want success and we are sick of waiting for it.
