Definitely not wrong, he has only played 36 games in 4 seasons. I personally think he is going to stick around out west either way, but both yourselves and our own board are rightfully weary re: body. The prevailing sentiment is that he's turned the corner but thats being very VERY hopeful imo. Think he showed fantastic stuff in the last month though, and being a former frp I think depending on the contract offers from both clubs we wont let him leave for a 4th. Not necessarily value for Carlton I wouldn't believe if they gave up more than that, but there's no real incentive either for us to trade him for cheap considering we already put the work in you know?
Not sure tbh. One of the weirder situations of the off season given like you said he was in delist territory 8 weeks ago
Yeah, this is definitely one for the experts to work out what's a fair deal, cos the rest of us have nfi.....Definitely not wrong, he has only played 36 games in 4 seasons. I'd honestly take Bris 2nd for Hawks 3rd + Chesser. Gives us a bit extra to play with for trading up, and an extra list spot. Gets my tickYeah, this is definitely one for the experts to work out what's a fair deal, cos the rest of us have nfi.....
He may or may not have upside, he may or may not be constantly in the medical room....way too many unknowns.
We took a punt on a player from GCS a few years back who came to us as damaged goods. We didn't pay a lot for him, but it's since been a disaster. Not saying that Chesser is in the same basket, but there's still a fair bit of 'buyer beware' attached.
Just looking at the current draft order, it may be something as simple as an exchange of pick 47 for pick 31, which gives you an extra 2nd round pick. But at the end of the day, who knows....and he may well end up staying anyway.

So people aren’t excited because we are only linked to role players - isn’t that what we’ve wanted?
Their role is winning it for us off their own bootYeah, of course we want role players. Role players like Errol Gulden and Zac Butters…
That's so last week, they had a movie night on Saturday and now they're besties.I am probably late to the party with this but Curnow doesn't like Voss? Sorry if this has already been posted/talked about.

I'm planning a trip through Kazak and other central Asian countries. Would love a real brief do's and don'ts of anything really surprising. Jealous mate. Enjoy it.Just landed in Kazakhstan and see that we're from runners for Campbell Chesser? What a beautiful day indeed!
As if we'd be that stupid to even think about wanting him.Amartey is awful.
I think that's an out. It was a fair excuse for the first handful of games, maybe up to a couple of months, but he had a full season to get match fit. No ones asking him to run up and down the field like Sam Walsh, all we're asking for is that he competes for marks inside 50 instead of conceding he's beaten and just letting his defender mark the ball and make an effort to chase for a tackle 3 or 4 times a game inside 50 when he's in the play instead of being a turnstile.I admit that I have criticized Charlie this season for his lack of effort.
I just wonder if not having a preseason, having minor surgery and not being 100% fit had anything to do with that.
If Amartey is involved in any deal to get Curnow to the Swans, I'll spew up.
Pretty much.So people aren’t excited because we are only linked to role players - isn’t that what we’ve wanted?
It appears that way. Quality role players who can run and kick are what this teams needed for what seems like forever. If we were adding them a couple years ago to the list and not losing TDK and JSOS etc we'd probably be looking at a very different 2025 season. So people aren’t excited because we are only linked to role players - isn’t that what we’ve wanted?
I have said it few times now - last year Adelaide got Cumming, Peatling & Neale Bullen. It appears that way. Very keen to hear who else we're linked to, I suspect we'll be targeting some decent players with the freed up cap space.
Us taking Amartey balnaced by the swans also giving us 2nd round pick - sounds fair i supposeCharlie for Gulden straight swap
OR
Charlie for Gulden, Amartey and a 2nd round pick.
Depends what we call role players I guess. I would be spewing if Chesser, Pert, Buku are getting offered close to half of what those guys would be getting paid. All those three were good AFL level players, our targets seem to be no different to most of our failed punts in the past.I have said it few times now - last year Adelaide got Cumming, Peatling & Neale Bullen.
Not saying I wouldn't be throwing all our compo picks at Port for Butters but if we can get some role AFL level role players with speed and footskills we can be back in finals.
We need points so it would probably just be a pick upgrade somewhere that works for both clubsI'd honestly take Bris 2nd for Hawks 3rd + Chesser. Gives us a bit extra to play with for trading up, and an extra list spot. Gets my tick
