And ruled out Heeney, Warner and Gulden and could see only Blakey a chance.Lloyd actually said last night he can’t seeing a deal being done with Sydney unless it’s with one of the 4 untouchables
I dont mind Blakey, would solve a lot of our problems but feel like it would need to be Blakey + something elseAnd ruled out Heeney, Warner and Gulden and could see only Blakey a chance.

Yep without getting political Melbourne is hardly the desirable destination it used to be.He's only a HBF, agreed it would need to be him ++. For the record, he loves living in Sydney, so he would need to be pushed!

I am starting to feel that we are over valuing Charlie based on some pre conceived potential that he might one day turn into Wayne Carey, I think he has the talent to if he put his mind to task but at 29 there is enough evidence of what he actually is and can no longer rate on potential. His last 2 seasons, averaging 2 goals a game and 10 disposals whilst having minimal impact on us winning games of football is really how we should be judging his trade value.Yeah ... I like Blakey as well .. but No4 in that awessome foursome.
Charlie is worth way more than a Blakey+.
Nah pass... next offer?

We are a side desperate for run and carry out of half back, IMO Blakey is prob the best at this in the comp, he is 26 and prob gets us closer to a flag than Charlie based on his 24/25 output. The other factor is Charlie wants to go and perhaps its better for the locker room if we let him go.. Blakey + Florent might be enough IMO

I don't think you fully understand how the trade period operates. What a player is 'worth' on the market and what they are 'worth' on paper are entirely different things. If they weren't then there would be a lot more players traded each year.I am starting to feel that we are over valuing Charlie based on some pre conceived potential that he might one day turn into Wayne Carey, I think he has the talent to if he put his mind to task but at 29 there is enough evidence of what he actually is and can no longer rate on potential. Ummm err F… NO!
No, stupid stupid option
We’ve had to put up with shit performances and efforts for a while, opposition supporters have also given us a fair bit of shit because of it.Bit over the we’ve been shit for 30 years narrative
Have we performed to expectations- no
But have we bit shit this whole time- also no

Dominating VFL. Maybe a tad undersized for a modern KPD, but his pathway has been closed with the Hawks tall defensive acquisitions. Won BoxHill B&F.Anyone know anything about Jai Sering?
Hutchy has his own agenda it’s all about himJust watched agenda settters….
According to hutchy merrettbis worth two firsts from hawthorn ie our 8 and next year hawthorn first. If this is “fair value” then Charlie is worth 4 first rounders or the equivalent in player quality
Also said Brisbane would do the right thing and pay Sam Draper 1.2m so Essendon could get a band one compo, but balance that out with the offer for Ridley which would still be band 2. How the **** would that work and does taht mean Sam Draper ends up on passing some of his salary to Ridley? Totally confused
Anyway - Essendon ends up with a gazzilion first round picks this year under hutchy’s pkan
I think I want my hour of life back after watching that show
Footy classified is even better than that
McLure & Cleary covered it on Tradies the other day too. Also said Brisbane would do the right thing and pay Sam Draper 1.2m so Essendon could get a band one compo, but balance that out with the offer for Ridley which would still be band 2. They’ve got form together from the Joey move, don’t they?McLure & Cleary covered it on Tradies the other day too.
Pay extra to Draper so Essendon get the higher compo and in return they do a soft trade for Ridley.
Therefore Ess get better picks with Brisbane only having to put up cash.
I'd assume this means a windfall for Draper. He's not taking money that would otherwise go to Ridley (not directly anyway).
When are we likely to know about Tas either way?Drafting management may take a change if TAS gets kiboshed
Could care less about his age tbh.Motlop is 21... what are some of your people on?
He's shown a bit, particularly in finals. Cut him some slack. Development isn't linear. He will be a best 22 small forward for years to come. Hopefully we're smart enough to keep him.
We literally brought in three small forwards last season.Could care less how old he is.
He's plays a position that is often considered plug & play but still seems a few years off as a quality option even if he does reach that level.
We require an upgrade at the position but continue to offer multi year deals to players that are probably not going to be difference makers rather than churning the list and trying alternatives.
That, that's what we're on..
So obviously there's no need to tie up players of questionable fit on multi year deals then..We literally brought in three small forwards last season.
