Yeah - the phantom drafts closer to draft night will be very interesting. Will start reflecting the expected choices/needs of clubs as opposed to just the order of best talentIt wouldn't surprise me if we were able to get another prospect before a Dean bid, as is.
2026 firstWhat's everyone's preferences - trying to trade down lower to get another kid ahead of Dean, or another (or better) first rounder for 2026?
Kallan Dawson (NM)Listening to davies this morning, I think we will be looking for a KPD as a DFA as we missed on khamis

Could we see pick swaps with Essendon to move up the order? 9 and 11 for 5 and 21? Guarantee us a kid before Dean and use 21 plus the balance of other picks on Dean.
We just need cover for Young and Weitering. Hopefully we don't need them to play AFL but we need injury cover, not a best 23 player.Kallan Dawson (NM)
Sam Frost (HAW)
Jacob Blight (RIC)
Aaron Francis (SYD)
Charlie Dean (COL)
There's a few cheap (albeit kind of crappy) options out there. I'd much rather just rotate Dean and Young through as the second tall for now rather than recruit another list clogger. We're going to be short but that's only going to really present a problem against a few teams
Trading up for Robey will probably prove too costly so I'd be trading for a 2026 first and a pick to choose a player between (or just after) the Dean and Ison bids. What's everyone's preferences - trying to trade down lower to get another kid ahead of Dean, or another (or better) first rounder for 2026?
They're proposed to be playing in 28, so drafting in 27
Not that I'm aware of. Expect 2 for Reidy, and 3 for Ainsworth.
Blight is the only one of interest there.Kallan Dawson (NM)

Unfortunately Freo are likely in the 1st bracket of improvers. McVee is a good get.Out of all the afl teams this off season who is likely to improve their list and thus their performance.
Improvers:
Saint Kilda
Brisbane
Gold Coast
Carlton
GWS
Sydney
Stationary:
Fremantle
North
West Coast
Adelaide
Port
Geelong
Dogs
Richmond
Collingwood
Going backwards:
Melbourne
Hawthorn
Essendon
Yep just need a solid citizen we can call on if neededWe just need cover for Young and Weitering. Hopefully we don't need them to play AFL but we need injury cover, not a best 23 player.
I'd have carlton and gws as stationaryOut of all the afl teams this off season who is likely to improve their list and thus their performance.

I think we wont move our picks until closer to the draft. We'll want to get a better idea of where bids will fall plus future of f/s rules.
Any idea on other delistings? Could we see any other early payouts?Elijah is a watch. Feel is he is gone. Badly burnt some bridges but also has a few players strongly pushing for him to get another chance.
Be very interesting with what we are trying to achieve how this plays out
Agree. Do we go for Frost. Someone who can come in and do a job for a year or two while Dean develops and HOF recovers from his ACL?Yep just need a solid citizen we can call on if needed

Trade picks 9, 11 and both 2027 first round picks to west coast and receive picks 2, 13, 34 and 41What's everyone's preferences - trying to trade down lower to get another kid ahead of Dean, or another (or better) first rounder for 2026?
Delist him and invite to pre season trainingElijah is a watch. Feel is he is gone. Badly burnt some bridges but also has a few players strongly pushing for him to get another chance.

What about looking at Ethan Phillips. Performed admirably in the backline for our VFL. Couple of games was bog taking a doz or more intercepting marks.Blight is the only one of interest there.
Someone has mentioned he’s Collingwood bound however.
Frosty, maybe but we’d be well old down back with Haynes, NN, Saad as defenders.
Edit: would have a look at ex-STK Schoenmakers. Prob more a 3rd tall but 194cm. Left foot roost!
Waste of money going down that route.Delist him and invite to pre season training
