I think his biggest issue is his spacial awareness/timing more than anything. Clearly not used to playing as a full time mid after coming into the CTL late and starting as a KPF. Frequently runs himself into trouble with his kicking getting smothered frequently and his hands are a way off the best inside mids in comparison. When he's in space though his kicking is normally pretty strong imo.Been watching the footy stuff YouTube channel of his game highlights (only got my view off that) Seen some absolutely terrible kicks in there in terms of field kicking. Goal kicking seems ok. I know he’s a better prospect than Lindsay but I’d rather someone like Lindsay for our list

He could be a gun anything. I was responding to the part about him not being a good centre bounce mid.Doesn’t mean he can’t be a gun wingman
I like it because it’s now a vital role. He can play wider and protect his body better
We have Cripps Hewett Lord Cerra plus Ainsworth etc that can do the mid work
I have faith a Chesser + Ollie combination would be quite potent in coming years so I'd rather get some game time into the two of them to iron out the kinks of playing a wing tandem.Doesn’t mean he can’t be a gun wingman

You don't know, though, do you? You are comparing an 18 year old who hasn't played an AFL game yet to two established players.I think trading up depends on how well placed we think we are with trade/free agency targets.
If we think we're a realistic shot at Butters/Humphrey next off-season, we have to maintain our assets so that we're ready to make the deal happen.
I like Robey, but I like those two even more.
We move up and draft Robey then forget Butters or HumphriesMassive if we can pull it off. Midfield set for a decade and potentially elite
Walsh Jagga Walker Lord Ben Campo maybe Wilson & Butters![]()

Keep Walsh around the ball
Which is why my preference is to go chips in on Humphrey. You don't know, though, do you? You are comparing an 18 year old who hasn't played an AFL game yet to two established players.
I wouldn't care... at any rate, who's to say we can't do a Tom De Koning for some midfielder? We move up and draft Robey then forget Butters or Humphries
Why's that?We move up and draft Robey then forget Butters or Humphries
Which is why I'm the opposite... would be cheaper to do and he could be anything.Which is why my preference is to go chips in on Humphrey.
We surely wouldn't have the assets to match Cody/Dean/Ison, trade up for Robey, AND trade for Bear/Butters.Why's that?
Oh I see, I thought you were saying we shouldn't go for Robey because he is a less certain proposition.Which is why I'm the opposite... would be cheaper to do and he could be anything.
So what you’re saying is, it will happenThat's not gonna happen unless WCE are actually ran by muppets unfortunately

Personally don't think Saad or Boyd have tanks to play wing, not by a long way.I’m hopeful Ollie stays HB but who knows. We have Chesser Ollie Wilson Florent Saad Boyd Carroll Lucas Charleson Flynn Cottrell who can all now play that role or even Wing. Let form dictate
I just like that we have genuine options
Ison may be the wildcard and although unlikely Ainsworth best footy was at HB under Dew
As for Walsh I’m not a fan of his ball use from contest and I want to protect his back
That’s just me
All depends on what the AFL do with the DVI changes if they ever bloody announce it.We surely wouldn't have the assets to match Cody/Dean/Ison, trade up for Robey, AND trade for Bear/Butters.
I know Austin is good but gee whiz that's pushing it.
Oh I see, I thought you were saying we shouldn't go for Robey because he is a less certain proposition.
I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in, I just have my doubts about him and I don't have doubts on Bear or Butters.
26s are for Cody, 27s get taken by Robey, so we'd be banking on a solitary 2028 1st rounder to get a deal done. Why's that?

We wouldn't need 27s to get Robey. 2025s should be plenty if he goes in his projected range which is 5-8 at the moment.26s are for Cody, 27s get taken by Robey, so we'd be banking on a solitary 2028 1st rounder to get a deal done.
No one has doubts on Butters but I do have some doubt on just how good the 'funny old fellow' is. I'd just prefer we'd back ourselves in for a few years to get ourselves up to speed. You saw just how much GC had to pay to get Petracca, and it wasn't pretty. We surely wouldn't have the assets to match Cody/Dean/Ison, trade up for Robey, AND trade for Bear/Butters.

Tbh, I’m amazed Boyd is still on the list.
Just don’t see it with him.
Probably the best kick we have on our list in terms of pure talent, if he puts in the work on the rest of his game this off season I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in our team regularly like we saw in 2023/2024.Tbh, I’m amazed Boyd is still on the list.

Realistically if he wasn't contracted he'd probably be gone though.
Wouldn't that be Austin?Lloyd giving players that aren’t established 2 plus year deals. Managers walked all over him
