Was White ever on the list???
He’s worth re-rookie ing.
Like we did with Carroll.
Still think there's a good chance we pick up one of these types.Absolute insanity to me that McGovern is retained.
To this point, GW and co have been making all the right moves to reset the culture of the club. Very disappointing.
I would've preferred Derksen, Frost, Phillips, Blight, or even ... Mason Cox.

Mitch Cleary has just reported that Young has signed for another year.
I'm not certain but I think we still need 2 more cuts so likely Elijah and White. Can we take Dean, someone else and Ison in the draft and elevate Lord. Then keep White?

We can... sorta. We're starting at 33-7-2, 2 spots free.
1. Delist White, with guarantee to re-rookie. Gives us 3 picks at the draft. 33-6-2
2. Cut another player, probably Lij, gives us 4 picks at the draft. 32-6-2
3. Match bids on Dean and Ison, pick one player in the ND. 35-6-2
4. Upgrade a rookie. 36-6-1
5. Add White back in as a rookie.
Would give us 36-6-2, full list.
Ok I wasn't aware that we had to be certain it was a season ending injury, I'm not a fan of this mechanism then and would prefer an injury reserve and the ability to dig into the VFL list for standalone and affiliated clubs. It's not that easy.
We have to get AFL sign-off on putting him on the Inactive List. That needs to be based on reasonable data indicating it is a season-ending injury.
If he recovers early, we'd then again need to get AFL sign-off, showing that something has changed from the original diagnosis, and he's now available to return. There would need to be a list spot available (e.g. another player going on to the Inactive List as you suggest).
To my knowledge, this has never happened (in the 7 or 8 years the Inactive List rules have been in place).
Look I can agree with that in principle if there's the flexibility, but I'm disappointed that we're going to be down a player until at least July.Disagree. A young kid having a carrot is very important. It was an August ACL and apparently tracking very well. If no issues he could easily be playing by July after having a heap of training
The benefits of coming back getting some games next year and then a pre season are huge.
They won’t play him unless he’s ready
We had one list spot spare and brought in two via SSP and then a mid-season rookie through injuries. Jagga and Kemp are now back, so we have an extra two delistings to make to make our numbers. We've had 5 in and 9 out already on the senior list. Haven't we already got 4 list spots open? After Binns, I don't need to cut another senior listed player.
Charleson I’d be keeping, re’rookie the kid another season, he’s knows how to football…It's fine to keep Gov. He has versatility and understands our system.
The others are sure to be delisted now. White, Flynn Young, Charleson and Elijah.
I feel for Will White who is blue-hearted and deserved more. Charleson is one who I think has something and I want to keep.
Flynn Young got some games, and to be honest, I was only impressed in one of them, possibly his last. I can see where we might have found upgrades but it's tough.
I'd be looking to move out Binns and Fogarty a year early.
Your math doesn't make sense. We can... sorta. We're starting at 33-7-2, 2 spots free.

Problem (if you can call it that) is that we are already oversubscribed on rookies, so we have to fix that. I'm not 100% certain, but I think we need to fix it by the list lodgment next week, so I think that means cutting at least one current rookie (though we can commit to re-rookie).I'd still like to get rid of 2 more seniors as well as Lij. Keep White, get Gresham and another KPP.
Yes, that's right. We currently have 7 rookies, so we need to get rid of one. But we can commit to picking him up again in the rookie draft.Your math doesn't make sense.
You cut White from the rookie list then re-rookied him
Totally agree as he was recruited to the club as an outside mid who runs both ways, so why get rid of him now for playing that role? Perhaps someone at the club now sees him as perhaps not "hard enough" at it, and just wants players that are capable of both inside and outside efforts......hmn sounds like someone who used to play that way and was captain of the Lions in their early 2000s premiership years.......It’s a really poor reflection on whoever was responsible for giving multi year contracts to players like Binns, Boyd, Fog
Binns has always put in the effort, really solid VFL player

AFL app reported him as re-signed a week or two ago.Charleson I’d be keeping, re’rookie the kid another season, he’s knows how to football…
