Social media really is insidious.

I spent about 6 months and a few hundred dollars in legal fees to try and figure out who this guy is and how to stop him a few years back.

I personally couldn’t do anything, but some of his posts are edging towards defamation - he needs to be very careful.

Club should go into bat for the young fella. Or direct him in the right direction.
I would be shattered as 23 year old to have my family/personal life spread all over the fn internet.

Their is a real insidious side to social media.

I think there is an absolute weapon possibly available for the right amount of coin that we can't afford otherwise and the club would have to very much consider pulling the trigger if requested.

I'd be disappointed in the club if they are willing to just part ways because it is complicated. They should be supporting Luke and Kelsey every possible way they can. And perhaps that starts with legal action against flogmantle on FB (and anyone else overstepping the line) to show they've got the player's backs in these situations. Family matters need to be kept private and not play out in public. C'mon Freo, time to step up and show that your commitment to player welfare matches what you want us to think it is.

Also might be time to bring in the girls from Optics to help with a Peter Bell special project?

There is always something you can do it just depends on whether you are willing to spend the $s. Threatening letters are bread and butter for litigation lawyers. Most things can get resolved without any formal action being required.

edit - after having read it now, they'd definitely have a case for defamation if they wanted to pursue it. They'd represent Kelsey not Luke though because she is the one being defamed in a one-sided story posted online (it goes beyond what the media has published so he can't hide behind that like he thinks he can). Him picking and choosing which comments to delete is only strengthening the case against him.

I actually wouldn't go against the Club holding firm to the contract at least for another year but overall if the situation doesn't improve or gets worse then it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to let him go back. We can still be pricks at the trade table and use the collateral to get Kozzie and Warner.

I have no doubt the clubs hierarchy would be monitoring that page and many others including on here, very closely for this kind of scuttlebutt

Thats what I think too. They might aswell move up to Joondalup or down the coast far enough to get away from it all, as opposed to going to Melbourne.
Ultimately the problem will only be solved when the opposing parties reconcile and moving to Melbourne won’t fix that.
