I liked this place a lot more when we were laughing at Carlton.
And keeping it on topic, Cerra, Motlop and Acres last night. Wow, they were all so terrible. Even Cripps was poor imo. Great player but him being a great captain? When exactly has he ever been that? Weitering was the only Carlton player that deserved a pass mark imo.

Pfft, did you not hear David King orgasm whenever Cripps picked an uncontested ball up and handpass under no pressure lace out to a team mate 1 metre away...

3 votes.... P Cripps

How many clear throws did he get away with last night, it was crazy

Wonder if cerra would ever consider coming back
If Freo was suddenly based in Melbourne he'd come back in a heartbeat I'm pretty sure. Him leaving was never about wanting out of the club.

Which is fair enough, we've had enough licks of the ice cream in terms of players wanting to be in their home state to not be too judgemental in that regard.

So who would’ve thought, that out of Martin and Bolton, it would be Martin that’s playing round 1?

Exactly, wonder if he'd find a bit of form playing with his mates

To be fair i think he is more struggling with continuity in his body rather than ability.

So pick 1 from Richmond and some later bits for JackO. Send all that to Syd for the Chad.
Use our own currency for Kozzie and hope like heck Vossy comes on or

Beauty!
Bring on 26

I'm sure our club is one of the better ones in terms of providing support for stuff going on off the field with players. I think it's a matter of how much we can keep it out of the public sphere in a fishbowl like perth, as to whether it becomes appealing to move east.
The media seem to be pretty respectful at this juncture, lets hope it stays that way. The more the people involved air out their grievances in a public space related to the club the harder that's going to be.

Sounds like Jackson should be looking forward to getting on a plane for a footy weekend in Geelong, before he has to go back to whatever you call this stuff.

There is absolutely no point worrying about this in March, especially when he's contracted to 2029. Maybe in 7 months time if he's still cut off the family and wants to get away from them entirely he'll seek to get out of Perth, but that's hardly guaranteed. There's a reason the media are all still saying a trade is unlikely. If he wants to reconcile or doesn't want to exacerbate the situation he'll stay in Perth. The club will also support him through it. There is literally a whole entire season still to play out.

He's contracted to 2029, has no issue with the club, isn't from Melbourne and the club see him as a big part of the future so it's still very unlikely he gets traded imo. If he was out of contract and this was happening in August/September it would be a different story

You are correct.

Could have sworn he was named originally.

Carry on.
He's available I'm pretty sure. He'd make our side this week but I'm not surprised he's not making Geelong's. I don't think he makes our strongest side either.

It's kind of karma this week that Narkle isn't available when we delisted Tom Emmett to make way for him. Players that added what Emmett added and are that age don't normally, especially to make space for a player that isn't AFL standard.

And before people say Emmett is/was sh**, our forward pressure is going to get exposed massively tomorrow. If a forward is going to be no good at scoring goals forward pressure is at least a contribution to the team overall.

Emmett = main list, Narkle = SPP rookie. Different list spot. Different position in all likelihood; Narkle's depth as a winger or at most a Frederick-style high half-forward, Emmett played much deeper. Not to mention, Narkle is probably at most a couple of weeks off—I assume he'll get WAFL minutes like Fyfe.

You could argue that we should have rookied Emmett instead; well, as you've preempted, I'm going to tell you he wasn't AFL standard. You might have noticed, no other clubs swooped (or even trialled him through the SPP). I really like Emmett as a person, but a slow-ish small forward without great kicking accuracy simply isn't going to keep an AFL list spot.

This is also completely putting aside that Narkle is primarily on our list for cultural reasons, ie. keeping our high priced recruit happy, as well as helping out with another 2025 off-season recruit. Handy depth on the wing where we're relatively thin, good for the culture.

You're suggesting that Martin isn't playing because he's not good enough, this is incorrect. Geelong are slow building him so he doesn't get injured again. He is absolutely in their B22.
