Any 28 to 30 year Olds we could get to improve depth for a 3rd round pick or free agent.

Harder to get older players on 1 year deals, to move interstate.

I would even consider an older eagle if we started trading with them.

I think we stray true and look at the mid season draft, etc.
We don’t really miss much with Fyfe, Walters. Aish, JOM out.
Unless players want a sea change?
The list is getting to the right age to
Compete.
Dudley, Voss, Narkle, etc are perfect examples.

Who plays if we get 2 more injuries. Our depth is being challenged at the moment, and it shouldn't be that hard to improve

Who replaces the experience of Fyfe and Walters next year?
Aish looks slow , but we may keep him but don't want to play him.

Happy with a mature ager or 2, McStay level player would be good as depth. I think he is a level above Narkle.

Fair to say he’s not setting the world on fire
That isn’t a fair conclusion. He has moved to half back in rounds 1 and 2 getting 30 possessions. Given around 6-8 were kick ins. Still 24 is better than the 11-13 he averaged last season as a half forward. He did consistently kick 1-2 goals per game though. Watching him in rounds 1 and 2 he generally used the ball well but often made the wrong decision when kicking - ie. Chewing off corridor kick when not on is one example. I think it is understandable as he comes to terms with a new role.

He was average last week and played some mid. Basically Peel’s midfield got annihilated. So let’s see how he goes today.

I certainly wouldn’t call him a bust.

Worner came drafted as a winger. Played a full year or two down back and after a few scratchy games with Freo has really looked good. Impressed me last night eapecially some of his tackling. Rochelle (I think it was bursting through at speed) was stopped in his tracks with a really strong tackle by Worner.

So let Cooper develop. Even if it is the whole year at Peel. Doesn’t mean he is a bust. Him playing half back might be the role that he is most suited to thrive and grow.

Also Ollie Murphy is developing fine at Peel. Added to that and I had written him off but Delean has actually played well the past two weeks at Peel, and that is in a forward line starved of opportunities.

Just noticed Griffin Logue omitted…

I'm not really sure, but with the way our salary cap has been structured to go all in on the big names, it makes it hard to attract that Neale-Bullen, Cumming, Peatling type of player that the Crows brought in. The sort of decent players you would be hoping to get are going to command decent salary, and I doubt we could afford them. As it is we will probably be needing to shed that type of player (e.g. Switta) to fit Pickett in. We'd have to be looking at discards and/or state league players (e.g. Parfitt, Constable), and that's probably just shuffling deck chairs. With the chance you could get a Mannagh level player who is actually good at AFL level.

Our depth isn't nearly as bad as some are trying to make out. It just looks stretched because of our injuries. We've got around 30 players who can pinch hit if required (i.e. including the Aish, Narkle, Erasmus types). That's pretty normal. Look at Brisbane's list for example ... I reckon there's about 12 players (maybe even a few more) who would be relatively useless at AFL level.

If I had to lose anyone for Kozzie, Rick might actually be the best option to be honest.
Hell nah, I would choose Switta over Freddy. Switta is injury prone, can't hit the side of a barn and is one bad concussion away from retirement. Not to mention he is getting older and will likley finish his career in Victoria. Freddy is a brilliant mark and kick at goal. IDGAF about how Switta "changes angles". Freddy is very important to us and he should not be involved in any way in getting Pickett when we have fringe b22 players that can be traded.

I don't think it really matters whether you GAF or not, just like it doesn't matter if people only focus on what they can see, the coaching team will value players based on what the contribute to the team.
Switta hasn't been great since he's returned, although last night was a bit better in my view.

No way we should be losing Freddie though unless it is being driven by him, he plays almost as a medium forward and considering Sturt can't stay fit we basically don't have a replacement.

Sure but goal kicking is almost irrelevant in your role players when you have those other names. All my other smalls I want to be gut running tackle maniacs who can set up others. Switta is closer to that than Freddy for mine AND there is the benefit that Freddy is going to be worth a lot more, like, you'd swindle a first round pick from the Hawks for him compared to like a pick in or near 40 for Switta.

I don't think we could buy a contracted medium forward who marks overhead, snaps goals from the boundary and has that pace.

Frederick would be a great inclusion to our side if we didn't have him. Even my mother last night noted how much he has grown his game.

So just keep that in mind before we sell players to other teams for under the price it would cost to buy their exact replacement all while paying overs for other players.

Exactly, imo getting a first round pick is not worth it. We need to keep this squad together and stop losing players if we want to compete for top four.

We don’t need to ‘lose’ anyone.

Bring in Kosi.

If it means Switta or Frederick or Dudley or Sturt or all 4 of them play WAFL so be it. Genuine competition for spots.

Man… Kosi… the flexibility it would give us.

3 certified A grade mids in Brayshaw, Serong and Young. Darcy and Jackson at full fitness. Rotate Bolton and Kosi through there. God have mercy.

Johnson to come on.

Reid to build.

Golly gosh.

I know a lot of people rate Sturt but tbh he’s probably gonna get delisted.

Switta is definitely the one that I’d be most keen to move if we get Kozzy because I think he’s an upgrade in every way. Could see a team like North being keen on him too

I don't think moving Switta on is the right choice, and would hate to lose him. He is one of highest ranked pressure players. He is also on average top 10 for tackles. Maybe a move to the back half is the way forward.

Ed Allan would be a good. I think he would put pressure on Sharp.

I think we could use a small forward, a winger and an half back.
A small forward? We have Dudley, Reid, Narkle this year already and probably Pickett next. Our weak point is definitely not there.
The winger I see as devoid of depth. Outside of NOD and Sharp there is bupkiss.
