I think we’d be crazy to let Erasmus go now after all the hard yards he’s done in development.
I’ve been very skeptical in the past but apparently his work ethic is as good as it gets and I think he’s shown he can play now.
He brings a bigger body & hard edge around the contest and the sheer will to get involved that should see him play at the top level.
I don’t think we can count on Young being able to stay on the park consistently unfortunately. Still early days but he’s had a worrying number of injuries so far.
Jeremy sharp struggled for opportunity at the Suns and hasnt missed a game since he came here. It would be mighty brave of him to look elsewhere if there is a contract on the table here.Losing him and / or Sharp would be shocking.
You get pretty much nothing for them (3rd rounder probably), and both are very close to best 22 next year.
With Erasmus, I look at what Collingwood do with Long and I think he could play that role. You place a cheap inside mid in the middle, and have him get the ball out to the better players and take a beating in the process.
I don't want Young on the inside, I want him getting the ball from Erasmus.
Bloody good player but I wouldn't be paying the alleged $1.2m for him. If Melbourne have that change for him then surely they know a player is moving. If they lose one of Oliver/Petracca no way he gets off the chain as often.
If we had money for Warner then surely we have money for Pickett. Depends on the outcome of the Jackson shenanigans.
You could have said the same about Acres.Jeremy sharp struggled for opportunity at the Suns and hasnt missed a game since he came here. It would be mighty brave of him to look elsewhere if there is a contract on the table here.

No one should begrudge Logue at all, he was being shifted around here and Freo clearly hadn't been overwhelming in their belief in him.
Get offered that sort of money to move and a clear role to own - would be crazy to turn it down.
I actually think it's a shame he hasn't gone better, but his lack of footy brains was always going to put a ceiling on him regardless.
Logue is a case study on how North or Brady Rawlings more specifically pay massive overs for everybody. Partly because nobody would go there otherwise, Luke Parker has Sydney paying a portion of his salary, but then they turn around and give the likes of Luke Davies-Uniacke an absolute king's ransom.
I think the most disappointing aspect of him leaving (although Mundy was retiring anyway) was the end of Old Bull Young Buck. Him and Barra were a much better duo than the current mob.
This bit is interesting, as I had thought that Freo had no financial investment in it. Really surprised to find otherwise. It makes the fact that the club did not do more to promote early access to seats very hard to understand.Deal done a bit late, wasn't able to include in our membership deal. Expect it included or the option to include it next year.
If we get to mid to high 30's we cover our costs for underwriting the game for NM.(Expect a push later in week)
Have we been played again to boost his contract?
That doesn't make any sense, if anything it is Melbourne who have been played.Have we been played again to boost his contract?
Highly likely Kozzie signs, gets the guaranteed money, then asks for a trade in a few years knowing Freo will have to cough up $1m+ per season. His manager knows exactly what he is doing.I don't see how it really changes things. He can sign the deal and then in 12-24 months turn around and say he wants to come here still.
It is really no different then the current situation, the Dees already have contractual control over him and there is speculation he wants to move. How does a different contract really change that other then give them more bargaining power in a trade??
