Hawks are the team actually chasing him???

As far as I know I this started with some numpty Hawks BF poster speculating that if Pickett came to us that would force Freddy out and they should go for him.

Something people overlook is the volume of defensive running Freddy does in every game. Not only does this reduce opposition space for easy transition but puts him in good positions to participate in our transition.
I fancy he is an upgrade on Hill there.

One of the highest defensive half pressure acts stats of the small forwards this season.

Clubs would do big things to have a player like Freddy and we would miss him.

First started when someone posted they were interested in one of our smalls, which turned out to be Frederick. A few weeks later someone else said Freddy would be gettable if we got Pickett. No mention of it since then.

Hawks are very aggressive with their player movement though. There’s be dozens of players they’re interested in that don’t go past a single conversation.

Hill is the biggest improvement in our best 22 IMO. Too many hopes and prayers on Dudley being fully fit. Id rather he be a very good depth option for the foreseeable future. Squeezing Hill in does rely on moving Reid higher up the ground though which may not be possible but I hate this draft and I will easily hand over our first for Hill, even if its a slight overpay on actual output. More genuine ground ball threats are needed up there.

Im not 100% convinced McVee is an upgrade on anyone on our team tbh. He should be weary of coming here.

If you could absolutely US style AFL list management, trading Ryan for a overs to bring in Starcevich for free would be massive IMO, not going to happen though. My man-love for Cooper Simpson makes me a bit more hesitant on Starcevich but if you could push Chappy to the wing, its another big win.

TLDR: Hill then Starcevich then McVee for me

On current output would have to agree on Hill versus Dudley.
But gee wouldn’t it be great to see Dudley lose some kegs and super fit, maybe he could be that player. Probably doesn’t have the speed though, you see what Switzkowski brings and that is a bit like Hill.

Cooper Simpson as you say providing the extra run from half back.

If both of those worked you could throw our first pick at a midfielder , don’t know who is gettable that we can afford. Or go to draft and bank one. But I worry we are one short when you consider Serong or Brayshaw being out . We miss Young as an example.

I think so long as people treating the idea of Dudley coming on as a bonus then its fine. Walls isn't making list management decisions with him as best 22 though and hes certainly not keeping Switta or Freddy out any time soon

If that's true, pin you ears back Wallsy and leave no stone unturned.

He'd be perfect rolling off the half backline, distributing on his left peg.

More than capable back up. Probably best 22 in a handful of clubs.
I’d look to extend him with the state of APs legs

Freo are talking with management and it depends on his physical including concussion history and how much do we want to take a chance

Lions want to keep him but he wants a decent sized contract and Lions may not match Freo especially if they are willing to pay 1 mil a year for O Allen

I'd say Freo will be a reasonable chance now we can't get Kossie. Play him at half back and on the wing.

Plus there is some insurance clauses in contracts nowadays as it relates to concussions so there is some security there for teams.
