Think Sharp knows this is his second chance and that he will probably sign a 2 yr contract, can't see us paying him overs either. Has the potential to work his way back in through grit and form but I can't really see any other teams picking him up, plus he's come home already. Great depth to have that knows the system.

Is anyone really worried if we lost Sharp? I'd almost rather keep Delean, there's more potential growth in him
Nah he’s handy enough and I think he’s shown enough that he deserves to redeem himself here with another year
Plenty of players have a down yr , especially early in their career when they’re still establishing themselves

You know I respect your opinion but I feel like I was having the same conversation with multiple posters last year about Emmett. The bloke can run and pressure but geez he can't football very well

From the sounds of it, that's worse than the inverse. If Lucas Robinson is amazing, the F1 might be needed to generate points. And if he falls, apparently next year's draft is significantly more hyped than this year's. Plus who knows who becomes available next year. Don't wanna dip into future assets.

I share the disgust others have at trading a 1st, but if the choice is between trading our current and our future 1st, I'm trading this year's.
If Whan is looking like going in the 30s, I’d almost go the other way and trade out our second rounder this year for a F2. That way if we need to match a top five pick for Robinson then we’re armed with three picks inside the first two rounds before the 2026 trade period starts. Got a feeling next years picks will very expensive to obtain with the 2027 Draft likely to be all but destroyed for most teams due to Tasmania.

Simple,
He wants to stay in Melbourne or go home to a decent team. WC are a basket case, he's too young and ambitious to be looking for a retirement payout.
West Coast need two things atm. Leadership and quality draft picks.

Whilst a 21 year old B Grader looks good for them on paper, I think they’ll be going huge at years end with the amount of picks they use (I’m thinking as many as 6-8 depending on whether Reid stays). If they go after experienced players I reckon they go for older wise heads that also come for less draft capital.

Agreed, I like what Aish provided to Freo but he is not “send off” type of player save that for Fyfe in the Brisbane game if he is not making the team by then. Have a feeling, however, that Fyfe won’t have one and will disappear into the sunset at the end of the year.

If fit I expect Fyfe to be sub against the Blues next week or against Port the week after.

IMO the only way he gets a send off game is if he comes in as sub, struggles to impact, then announces his retirement and gets a send off game the week after as sub.

So JUH's move to Sydney is looking likely. He is signed until 2026...the same as Warner conveniently. We are the ones that can unlock this trade.
Why not wait for 12 months? Scared about a 2m deal from WC to blow us out of the water? Apparently he's on 1.4m a season, we are going to struggle to fit him in and not upset the apple cart.

Father time isn't far away from omera, so I'm hoping we can keep Raz and I hope he sees that

I thought there was talks sharp had a 2 year extension done earlier this year?
He’s 31. Wouldn’t be surprised to see his contract extended by a year if he plays like he has this year, especially if it doesn’t come with any breaks due to injury.

If we turn Erasmus into McVee that's a massive win.
McVee is getting so underrated by a few on here. He’s on the borderline of being worth our first rounder. We’ll get something pretty generous back because he’s out of contract.

Erasmus would fetch us a third rounder at best.

Not sure a lot of clubs will be in the market for Sharp.

For Sharp it’s been two clubs that have rejected him from the 22.
Handy player in a form slump

GC didn't want to get rid of him and we are actively trying to sign him

Not like he has been thrown out from 2x bottom tier clubs

He would walk into WC b22 and would be free as a UFA, right age bracket too, I mention WC as he wanted to come home last time but maybe if he sees his career extending away from home he will be happy to move.

He is probably arguing for a 3 year vs a 2 year deal right now and we probably aren't offering him the money he wanted at the start of the year (would be on chips after moving from GC but expecting a raise after playing all year LY but now hes out of the team)

I don't know who you think Delean is but at the very least Sharp is competent enough to get the ball at AFL level, I don't know if Delean ever will be

We offered that to Bontempelli.

We've got money to spend. If we get nobody, watch Jackson and Serong extend

I am all for waiting 12 months, it would just make things easier if JUH was a part of the trade!

Oh that’s going too far.
I’m pretty sure I read that Jezza had been playing with shin soreness all year and was receiving jabs to get out there at some point. He may just need a good spell to come back to his running best.

We've got 10ish blokes who are either already at an A-grade or will be soon, I'm more than fine with splashing the cash in-house to keep this core together as long as possible and work on targeting solid B-Graders with potential to ensure steady improvement in our bottom end (I honestly tried phrasing that differently but i just couldn't)

Our stars are as good as any from the premiership teams of recent years.

Agree on McVee. Has skills, height and speed and really would get more of the ball but they use Bowey and the laziest footballer in the world (Salem) to move the ball.
