if sharp spends the rest of the year working on his kicking and starting to drill the ball i50 instead of up and unders then he could maybe force his way back in. but even then i think were getting more out of having 2 contested players on the wing, too many times was sharp brushed aside in a contest. MJ/NOD at least halve it and keep the ball contested.

If we’re looking for some cheap midfield depth we could do worse than Alex Davies.
Think he'd have offers from clubs where he'd at least think he'd be best 22 tbh.

Also think he's contracted so Gold Coast just say he's a contracted player then he wouldn't be cheap anymore.

Pretty sure Deven Robertson is out of contract. Never rated him that highly but he's good enough to be depth and wouldn't be as far back here as he would be at Brisbane.

Robertson = Erasmus.

If Gold Coast are a genuine chance at pulling Curnow over I'd be guessing it's because Curnow is on about $900k and Gold Coast are offering closer to double that - as is the new figure for a player of his level.

So contracted Gold Coast players could be making way for that, they also have three high picks that will get burned matching bids for their two top ten academy guys - potentially even at #1. (Currently #8, #11 and #18)

I think Carlton will want those picks, but we can get in on that too. Trade our first (currently #12) for their pick #8 and a contracted player to take the salary on. We get a mature body, we get a pick upgrade.

Re sharp, I just don’t think the club rates wingers like sharp and acres enough to give them long deals. Most wingmen are a dime a dozen.
That's a ridiculous statement. I'd rephrase it to say we don't rate wingers with poor kicking and wingmen with poor kicking are a dime a dozen.

JUH is worth absolutely sweet F all compared to Warner
Yea remember what was traded for Cam McCarthy a year after GWS demanded two first rounders for him?

We don’t really know how trade discussions would’ve gone for JUH a year ago but he would’ve been pretty bloody expensive is my tip.

It’s almost at the point where the Bulldogs just get something small but beneficial for JUH and move on.

He is a contracted number one pick with a very high ceiling. If he is traded there will be a hefty price tag. Maybe not as high as Warner but high enough that Sydney could use our picks to get him. Anyway this is just conjecture, it's not going to happen given we have to wait until 2027 for Warner (I thought it was 2026).

JUH has serious issues outside of footy.

Dev Robertson is terrible. Eagles shouldn't go near him, never mind us.
Agree the eagles shouldn’t go near him. He’s a below average mid compared to most that get regular games and is in his mid-20s. Theyre set up for a huge draft haul already due to the Barrass trade and their ladder position - few draftable NGAs and a father son that are borderline too.

If all we want is okay depth for two years though there’s worse players we can bring in. There’s a few others that are similar tbh but not from WA - which makes Robertson far easier to link that others.

Following on from Taylor, are you not aware with how bad everything is with him? Dogs are getting nothing for him

Not sure I’ve seen any player with well known off field issues traded for anywhere close to their full value. The contract in these scenarios actually reduce trade value and massively.

Jon Patton for example was traded for a F4. It’ll be something like that - get him off the books and a portion of the salary with it.

Ashton Moir might now be my number 1 want, I hope he's someone we'd been in contact with a bit before he got a game. That kids oozes talent
If you could get one of McCreery or Moir and an F2* for Erasmus and a first which one would you choose?

*literally just making shit up as I'd do that trade in a heartbeat for Beau
