I don't think he has the pace to do it.He's huge, can he play as a part time forward?
Yeah but when a player is almost exactly what you need and could legit put you over the edge for a couple of years...Have people not witnessed what has happened to Fyfe over the last few years? Cripps is a similar style of player, and the end could come very quickly for him, especially with the extra travel.
He was fantastic yesterday, but that was his best game of the season. His whole season has been a big step backwards from the previous few. That's understandable considering he won Brownlows, but is it a trend that will continue?
Giving away a first (or multiple firsts) is bad enough, we'd also have to be honouring (and perhaps extending) his existing contract which is north of $1 million per year for the next 2 years.
I'd put Petracca in this bracket as well, in case he's the next one people start thinking about.

There's selective umpiring everywhere. Not to the same extent and certainly not recently.
True enough. But it was definitely evident yesterday that Cripps and Hewett had latitude that our guys didnt. There's selective umpiring everywhere.
Brownlow and Coleman medal challengers get favourable decisions.
Some first/second player - it's bang, holding the ball and/or no whitsle when getting man handled.
Even Brayshaw and Serong aren't umpired the same way Matt Johnson is.
It's a joke and isn’t called out enough.
2-3 as a mid but is also handy resting forward like Danger31 at the start of next year.
How many good years of footy does he have left in him?
Dangerfield has a lot of explosive pace, that makes him Dangerous as a forward.2-3 as a mid but is also handy resting forward like Danger
I have never seen that in Cripps. I have not seen a lot of marks in the forward line either, unlike someone like Bont who does it often.

I just don't see him as a forward.
Also, his defensive pressure has never been great but that will drop away more as he ages. I see if very similar to expected Fyfe to play well as forward, although at least Fyfe has played well as a forward before.
Unless you are willing to give up a first round pick plus more for him, then we should the conversation.
Actually, lets just stop the conversation.
Ah Chee plus McVee - Yes.
Cripps - No.
I'm in the no to Cripps camp.
Having to share a flag with him would really take the gloss off it.
Who are the 2 mids? The question would be how do we use Cripps? Does he just play mid? Can he rest fwd with the 4 other talls and young? We already have 2 mids who can’t play any other position is 3 too much?
If anything it's Erasmus and Brodie.Who are the 2 mids?
Brayshaw can play wing we just need him in the middle
Serong looked dangerous forward late last year but when we tried it early this season we got spanked in the middle without him
They could definitely play those positions if we had another premo mid in (doesn't help that young has basically missed the year)
By inside you mean onball, isnt that basically only Serong and AB? Even AB is getting played on a flank a bit here and there now?We already have too many pure inside mids. No from me dawg.
Theres an argument the prophesied emergence of The Unicorn is enough and that dominating contested ball doesnt matter anymore but personally, I do feel like our biggest risk of losing is getting smacked by big bodies so im in the "he's perfect" campAnyone saying you wouldn’t want Cripps on the team is crazy. He’s exactly what we need. As soon as a player is on your team it actually becomes very easy to overlook all your past hatred of them.
I’m against it because of the cost, but those saying he would taint a premiership are insane.
