We're keeping the players we need to keep, that's the most important thing for another tilt next year.
The most important thing for another tilt next year is to improve the list. Brisbane, Gold Coast and Hawks will become stronger while we stay the same which puts a bigger gap between us and the top teams. We cannot rely on draft picks every year, we need to bring in some players.

It's always going to be an uphill battle as a WA club trying to convince players from the eastern states to come over here, but I do hope we bring in a couple.

I would argue we can get better through development. None of those teams are really going to see major improvement through that. We have 3 key forwards who all have growth in them. Young hopefully stays injury free. Jackson still has another cpuple of levels to go to. I am also not convinced Brisbane will improve all that much given they gain Allan, Draper and Ridley (probably) but lose Ah Chee and Starcevic. Ridley and Allen are not A graders and Draper is highly injury prone. GC and Hawks will likely improve somewhat but only Merrett at Hawks would significantly improve them.

Fahey delisted by GWS today would be a good option for our SSP try outs.

I hope Wallsy drafts Cody Curtin ,he may be around selection 20ish. He looks really promising over 200cm would be an ideal replacement down the track for Pearce who lets face it may only last a few more years with the state of his body. Also he is very versatile and he is a docker supporter and has trained with us, what's not to like.
I've got no faith in Davies and Draper ,barely WAFL standard. Draper shows promise but he is too much of a light weight.
If the draft experts are anything to go by he is third round material. Cal Twomey has not named him or FR in his top 30 or next best 10-15. That next best 10-15 should really be expanded to 25 and then would include Fred Rodrigues and Cody Curtin. But seems he is in the 35-50 range, which is similar to Toby Whan and Rodrigues.

I thought this coming in to this year but I feel like next year really is the year of Ras and Johnno. Throw NOD in too. Fyfe gone, it's their time

Unless it's a replacement for Reidy as a SSP or a big bodied mid I'd have zero interest in any player over 195cm tbh.

Alex Pearce might be getting older but we've got four young KPPs developing at Peel. That's probably more than just about every club in the competition. It's too many if anything.

Don't think we have enough list spots available to address what we actually need and draft a KPD to add to surplus we already have.

Extremely worrying that the two best lists in the league IMO, Geelong (most complete, no holes) and Brisbane (sheer talent wise) are going to potentially add Marshall/Worpel and Draper/Allen/Ridley respectively and we are just going to have to bank on natural progression.

We are never winning a flag at this rate. I understand it’s hard to compete with these clubs pull-wise but can we at least try?

Everyone wants to win now and I share that desire, but we are still a young team and it might need a few more years of prelims and the like while Brisbane, Cats, Hawks win the next couple of flags. Would be happy to add McVee and/or Ah Chee, but if we don't it is not the end of the world. It might turn out best if we wait for Rivers and/or Warner as free agents end of 2027. I'm not even sure Cats/Lions will get much better.

People think it is a negative to simply bank on natural progression. But don't forget that most of the teams around us are trying to stave off the natural regression with their older players. We've only really got Pearce to worry about. It's a big worry for me admittedly.

Brisbane might be bringing a few in, but they are only looking for replacements for Daniher/Big O/Starcevich. I don't really see any upgrades there, maybe status quo at best. And then they've got Ah Chee looking to be heading out. Neale is getting old-man injuries (and rumoured to be looking at coming back to Perth). Lester is old and close to retiring. Same for Zorko. Cameron is on the way down. Hipwood's ACL is partially torn (not sure how much he will miss). Clubs are hunting Bailey and he's going to get a monster offer that will be hard to resist. They've got youngsters to keep improving, but so do we.

Could see our biggest competition being Gold Coast, and they also don't seem to be doing much this off-season apart from working out how to rort the system to bring in their academy players. Vague links to Curnow, but I doubt that happens.

Thank God we can officially see the back of the Will Brodie fan club on social media, worst contingent of Fremantle fans.

Already comments on Facebook saying we should be keeping Reidy and trading Darcy in the comments 😂
