PetroljellyAside from Reidy and Chesser, Who else?
And even if he does, so what?Flagmantle is already whinging that Reidy is going to be another Lloyd Meek situation, this guy genuinely has no clue.

There's about as much chance of Reidy being as good as Meek as there is of Bailey Banfield being as good as prime Fyfe.Flagmantle is already whinging that Reidy is going to be another Lloyd Meek situation, this guy genuinely has no clue.
All of them are just whining that "Darcy will break down again just you wait, then we'll be crying we don't have ruck depth"And even if he does, so what?
We've got Darcy and Jackson, what does the bloke want to happen - trade one of them to play Reidy?
The king of the 'Players you are surprised are still on an AFL list' thread on the main board.I suppose Reidy is younger than Tom Campbell
Peel didn't make finals so actually finished before Freo did.Delisting should be announced soon yeah? Or do they wait till peel are finished
Peel's season has finishedDelisting should be announced soon yeah? Or do they wait till peel are finished
Everyone wants to win now and I share that desire, but we are still a young team and it might need a few more years of prelims and the like while Brisbane, Cats, Hawks win the next couple of flags. Would be happy to add McVee and/or Ah Chee, but if we don't it is not the end of the world. It might turn out best if we wait for Rivers and/or Warner as free agents end of 2027. I'm not even sure Cats/Lions will get much better.
People think it is a negative to simply bank on natural progression. But don't forget that most of the teams around us are trying to stave off the natural regression with their older players. We've only really got Pearce to worry about. It's a big worry for me admittedly.
Brisbane might be bringing a few in, but they are only looking for replacements for Daniher/Big O/Starcevich. I don't really see any upgrades there, maybe status quo at best. And then they've got Ah Chee looking to be heading out. Neale is getting old-man injuries (and rumoured to be looking at coming back to Perth). Lester is old and close to retiring. Same for Zorko. Cameron is on the way down. Hipwood's ACL is partially torn (not sure how much he will miss). Clubs are hunting Bailey and he's going to get a monster offer that will be hard to resist. They've got youngsters to keep improving, but so do we.
Could see our biggest competition being Gold Coast, and they also don't seem to be doing much this off-season apart from working out how to rort the system to bring in their academy players. Vague links to Curnow, but I doubt that happens.

Joke's on them because I wouldn't be playing Reidy regardless of if Darcy went down.
Seems like Brodie was contracted for a year longer than we thought. Through to end of 2027.
Expect the first round before the end of the weekDelisting should be announced soon yeah? Or do they wait till peel are finished
Looks a typo from the sentenceSeems like Brodie was contracted for a year longer than we thought. Through to end of 2027.
And Aish, unless it's a curveball and someone contracted but unlikelyWe don't have many delisting decisions to make do we? We already know about the retirements and trades, extensions for Sharp and MacDonald are more or less locked in etc.
Are Delean and Jones the only ones we can delist from here?
Aish and Jones almost certainly go as soon as the club announces delistings. We don't have many delisting decisions to make do we? We already know about the retirements and trades, extensions for Sharp and MacDonald are more or less locked in etc.

I think it's worth differentiating average squad age/experience from average matchday squad age/experience. We are 11th and 13th for age and experience as a squad, but our matchday squads are 15th and 16th in those metrics (and I think at or near the bye we might've been 18th for both). Most of the drop there would be attributed to older players who played a lot in 2024 getting injured/phased out. For context, 2022 we were 12th for both. We’ve been a “young team” for a long time. Our list hasn’t been in the top 10 mean age wise since 2018. Fyfe, Walters, Brodie and Reidy all gone and no trades on the horizon will probably drop that further.
But when you look at it we really aren’t that young. Next year O’Meara will be 32, Pearce will be 31, Ryan 30, Darcy/Cox/Switta/Wagner/Bolton/Banfield in or approaching their late 20’s. Brayshaw, Serong, Young, Clark, Frederick all hitting prime age 25/26.
There’s an opportunity to win a premiership with this group in the next few years and we should be in win now/top up mode.
And a quarter of the footballer Fyfe wasAcres was same weight & height as Fyfe
