It also puts less pressure on us to get McVee. He would be nice to have but if it falls through we still have a largely untapped prospect on our list that plays the same position. Would love to see us build a rebounding game style that uses Clark, Walker and Simpson to gain territory and create scoring chains.Kid's got talent. Very good user, and is quick off the mark.
He's definitely going to be a weapon

As usual everyone just conveniently forgets we’re paying Bolton a million a year … and it’s going up apparentlySure three first rounders is great but in our current situation I'd rather have Shai Bolton and Murphy Reid than the players Richmond got. Still got a third rounder this year to come too.
I'm sure Richmond fans would prefer the three 18 year olds but wish one of them was Murphy Reid.
Win-win trade IMO.
I actually forgot how much potential Simpson had shown before he went down with injury:
Will be perfect off half-back next season.
Yeah no way they are just a smarter better run organisation or anythingForgot Gunston who they have brought in twice from other clubs (Adelaide and Brisbane). He's so old that people might forget they poached him from the Crows. For pick 24. Just emphasises the point above how they have access to players for peanuts that we will never have.
I'd do it but Motlop is worth more and looks like he is Port boundReidy for Motlop straight swap![]()
Lol Brisbane just totally rebuilt their midfield with top 3 picks in 3 yrs and a couple of useful pick 20 jobs and have a young KPF , HBF and Small fwd* as good as any we have on the listI would argue we can get better through development. None of those teams are really going to see major improvement through that. We have 3 key forwards who all have growth in them. Young hopefully stays injury free. Jackson still has another cpuple of levels to go to. I am also not convinced Brisbane will improve all that much given they gain Allan, Draper and Ridley (probably) but lose Ah Chee and Starcevic. Ridley and Allen are not A graders and Draper is highly injury prone. GC and Hawks will likely improve somewhat but only Merrett at Hawks would significantly improve them.
Fahey delisted by GWS today would be a good option for our SSP try outs.
Best suggestion yetReidy for Motlop straight swap![]()

I wouldn’t mind Hart and Luke.
Hart is quite tall for a small forward and may thrive under a professional environment
Unfortunately he’ll never get much better , doesn’t have that natural timing and hitting it at its highest point ….. always trying to catch it on the way downI like it.
As long as this involves an absolute ton of contested marking. The amount of almost marks he takes is crazy
Anyone watched the Brad Scott 360 interview? I find it absurd they are making such a strong stance. They threw most of his career down the drain backing a Conman for 20 years. Finally they are building correctly and that unfortunately doesnt align with Merret's timeline, it is what it is. Be big boys and move on with it
Let's be honest anything at all for either that can be used to improve our draft day situation is a win.Our best bet of getting something out of Brodie/Reidy is to do a 3 way trade with the Blues if Port want Motlop
Might be able to upgrade to that pick 24 or something with our 2nd and something else
I love it. Merret re negotiated his contract for more money. These managers signing players up long term then telling them they will be moved regardless is a joke. Clubs need to take the power back.Anyone watched the Brad Scott 360 interview? I find it absurd they are making such a strong stance. He’s not going to, though. Highly unlikely.Don't think the club would sign someone else if Sturt was going to be available 10 rounds in tbh. There's not much chance of that though.
We'll need to have our list finalised post rookie draft then we can put someone on the inactive list.
It was a ‘cute’ trade to try and offset Mundy. Has to be some interesting things that happened behind closed doors for Brodie to not play after 2022.Yeah no way they are just a smarter better run organisation or anything
Just looking at where the Meek / JOM trade sits right now tells you everything you need to know
We actually need NBA style trading/contracts. Clubs should choose where players are traded which could really make a clubs rebuild quicker. Imagine the fun one or two season "rentals" for random players like Us getting a Petracca for 2 years before he goes back home (for argument's sake). Also clubs should be able to offer players they drafted more money than a rival club that is paid out of the cap to reward loyalty (e.g supermax)I love it. Can't remember who posted it, but we should really draft Taylor. We need a long term Key defender and start planing for life after Pearce. He has Max two seasons left in him and we were lucky to scrape through with Macdonald who is old and injury prone himself. Draper and Davies aren't at the required level.

ACL recon end of year.
