Especially considering how poor we were in that area for our entire existence.Just on that. How ****ing great is it to have three 22yo KPFs kicking 32+ goals in a season. Could’ve only dreamt of it a few years ago.
There was one passage of play where Treacy took a mark at half back, kicks to amiss on the wing, kick to boss in the 50.Just on that. How ****ing great is it to have three 22yo KPFs kicking 32+ goals in a season. Could’ve only dreamt of it a few years ago.

Is that a reflection on the weight they put on carnival games or the lack of competition/talent in colts wa footy atm?It wont make one difference to his draft stock to be honest.
Its more that we underestimate how much footy recruiters consume. Im picking numbers out of thin air here but recruiters will have watched like 90% of all footy Whan has played this year. His Souths coaching group giving him more votes than anyone else isn't going to impact recruiters opinion in any way.Is that a reflection on the weight they put on carnival games or the lack of competition/talent in colts wa footy atm?
Pat Voss to go from that awful home game in 2024 v Geelong to where he is now. Impressive.Just on that. How ****ing great is it to have three 22yo KPFs kicking 32+ goals in a season. Could’ve only dreamt of it a few years ago.
He needs to be coached accordingly. You won’t see Cameron wrestling with Battle or Barass for example this week.Reckon that Amiss is definitely got potential to be a Cameron type key forward.
Maybe not as many goals, but the running to wing etc, and doubling back.
Reckon he spends too much energy wrestling with opponents, needs just to run and demand the ball
Yeah, I missed the part where McKercher was all of a sudden a superstar. KPFs kicking over 110 goals by 22 dont grow on trees...
Ellis really doesn’t like Amiss he’s been very critical of him all year.Lol was Amiss not the hero literally one game before against the dogs? Short memories. 113 goals from 70 games and only just turned 22. So much undervaluing of him
also makes you think of when there was the last dominant Young wafl player in the main team. Remember when Coniglio dominated the WAFL grand final at 16Is that a reflection on the weight they put on carnival games or the lack of competition/talent in colts wa footy atm?
Plus was obviously carrying an injury in the later part of the season. For reference Thilthorpe is a year older and has kicked 119 goals from 78 games and Just made an AA. And so many wanna write off Amiss. If he didn’t have such a good first year we’d be so happy to have a 22 year old KPF kicking 32 goals.

Yep, doesn’t make sense. Better that he plays as a medium tall.He needs to be coached accordingly. You won’t see Cameron wrestling with Battle or Barass for example this week.
Need better delivery inside 50. He needs more Murphy Reid’s around him.
**** me when did all of our b22 players become worth half a player. And wtf is everyone’s obsession of getting kickers off half back. Our transition scoring was fine, and add in Simpson next year it probably gets better.Hard ball gets podcast had another freo related trade hypothetical:
Lachie Whitfield to Freo for Sean Darcy plus an extra player such as Erasmus or Johnson?
Ryan suggested Darcy & Cooper Simpson for Whitfield but Ellis rubbished it as not being enough to satisfy GWS, said Erasmus or Johnson would need to be a part of the deal.
Whitfield would definitely add some AA level class off half back but he’s 31 already, drafted in 2012, four years before Sean Darcy. Think it’s balanced against freo if anything.
31 year olds aren’t worth more than a second round pick in my opinion.
Found the HBG guys a bit annoying this week. They haven’t much of a clue about trade values I don’t think. Rhino slags Nick a lot too but I actually reckon Nick knows more about footy than he does. Ellis then was grossly overvaluing Cam McKenzie who can’t even get a game at hawthorn.
These guys sound like they spitballing absolute dribble. Darcy being a ruckman would be higher value than Ellis is making out - albeit AA in the past. Adding a late draft pick to the trade (as a sweetener) would be sufficient for someone in the twilight of their career. Darcy is too similar to Briggs so is a stupid suggestion.Hard ball gets podcast had another freo related trade hypothetical:

The club still needs to work out where the competition sees Whan in the draft to determine their strategy around pick swaps.
The most important thing really is whether it's coming before our second rounder. I don't think that's going to be much in front of pick 40 tbh. It'll probably be roughly where it is post trade period (ie after free agency compensation picks) if slightly later.
If Whan will 100% after pick 40, the obvious strategy is to use whatever picks to get the first two picks as high as possible. If there's a chance Whan goes before our second rounder and/or pick 40 it becomes more difficult.
Some of the trades they all agreed were good were hilariously bad. The Adam Cerra one to Adelaide was genuinely terrible. Even Jay Clark’s trades are better. These guys sound like they spitballing absolute dribble. Darcy being a ruckman would be higher value than Ellis is making out - albeit AA in the past. Worse hypotheticals that you see on this threadHard ball gets podcast had another freo related trade hypothetical:

Yep. It'll be about upgrading the second rounder. Don't think the third rounders really move the needle enough for our first rounder. Can make an argument that we upgrade the second pick with our 3rds as much as possible anyway and grab two players ahead of Whan and let the chips fall as they may. As they say in Bedazzled.

Might be better if it's draft night trade or at least late/post trade period. Quite possible the second round pre draft is dominated by Gold Coast, Brisbane, Carlton, Sydney etc - Those picks just disappear on draft night. No point upgrading our second rounder four spots if all picks will disappear in bids for example.
So Ellis said Darcy, Simpson and Erasmus/Johnson for Whitfield?Hard ball gets podcast had another freo related trade hypothetical:
