Yeah, that's not going to happen. I'd like the gamble, but let's say they finish 10th and miss finals. That's literally pick 11 for 10. No club would ever do that.

It also hurts that their recruitment doesn't miss on the non-academy picks either. Wilmot, Morris, Bailey, Lohmann all good value

Not sure why so many are writing off Walker.

His season was ruined by injury and with a good pre-season should be B22.

I think if JLo had his time again would have brought him back in this year. May have been handy to play on Bailey Humphrey.

I agree his pace and defensive ability shouldn’t be underestimated.
Especially with his attacking instincts (in a side that so many seem petrified to enact (thanks jlo)

With an our backline now looking good for medium defenders - clark , mcvee, Simpson depth - worner I’d be interested in to see if we couldn’t try Walker as defensive fwd.

Got all the tools for it and would ease a big burden on somewhat prone to injury switta.

Swap 11 for a F1 from a likely top 4 side again next year.

This is an interesting test of an aspect of David walls overall performance that is probably by far his weakest point - negotiating the right trade value for incoming players to the club.

We can’t afford to give pick 11 up here. Pick 29 for McVee is perfect.

All the cars are stacked in Freos favour here. This should be a home run for us and a chance to even up a rather unbalanced trade price ledger with the Dees in recent years.

I think you have to take next years good draft vs this year's crappola draft into consideration.

I think you'd need to consider the strong possibility Geelong don't drop and hence what would be the point.

I'd be keen to gamble on Geelong dropping, but straight up for 11 is just plain dumb.

Given the links his dad has in with the Fremantle footy club, is there any way we could tempt Fletcher out of Brisbane with a big money offer I wonder?

They aren’t going to be able to pay him what he’s really worth surely. Just trying to think outside the box to widen the talent pool available to us.

The broader AFL public has not realised it just yet but I think this guy is going to be one of the top AFL players of the next decade.

Would happily put a 7 year offer worth $7 million in front of him and see could he be tempted across.

Makes me sick the depth of talent the lions have at their disposal really. Hard to compete with it

They mighten have yet but surely will soon - agre the kid is an absolute jet in the making (is already awesome) and yep I’m with you on this one dockeroo we need to be going hard AF at these fringe/young qld teams players .

Another one which I really like the idea of was kiddy Coleman.
I know he’s had his injuries but his kicking and creativity is elite.
As just another academy selection I doubt the kids on much either.

Would be absolutely perfect on a wing for us AND doubt would cost much in a trade either

ATM the salary cap is the ONLY thing the rest of the competition has in trying to balance the ledger in any way in stopping them from continuing to be a powerhouse or GC soon to become.

I think a big thing in our favour for chasing these guys is the similarity in lifestyle to Queensland we can offer too.

Their not like so many vic players who who seem unwillingly or unable to leave the comforts of the footy bubble in Melbourne

I implore you all to watch his performance against Adelaide this year in round 17. Was elite that day on Rankine and a performance that you’ll hopefully get from him for the next 10 years.

He possibility could but his endurance would hold him back from it ever being more than short stints there.

It’s why I think chappys the almost perfect option there for us.

Has great endurance. Tall/very good mark, naturally attacking instincts/very good short kick yet also great defensively so is perfect to be able to get back and help out the defence as well

Plus with those traits he could be trusted a lot more than sharp say for example ,who we seemed to bypass entirely in alot of games for us ,to actually run a lot more of our offence through him and is also a shitoad more harder than Jeremy too

I think we need a pick in this draft, but I think Melbourne's F1 will be easily top 10. Top 5 if they trade Petracca.
