Geelong should be completely out of the Curnow race, it shouldn't even be a talking point. The only way its a discussion is if there is players looking to leave, which has me terrified we plan on doing something very stupid with Humphries.

I should say this is separate to any potential Darcy trade because we can clearly pay for Humphries anyway.

Id say Swans are pushing it with what they have for Curnow as well so maybe there is someone leaving them thats gettable...

Rowbottom had also been pushed out of Sydneys starting midfield a bit this year so he could be expendable for them, I actually brought him up as that defensive player that we lack in this thread at some point but didn't think he was actually gettable (he wouldn't be for us but GC does make alot of sense)

I’d happily do it if it landed us a gun player in return.

Drop Darcy and gain Warner? That’s a win.

Drop Darcy and gain Humphries + Mannagh? That’s a win.

I doubt Darcy gets traded. Bombers would need to go large and they rarely offer enticing deals.

Think Gold Coast do that delist two rookies and re-draft them thing to create two extra lists spots pre-draft. There was 2-3 other rookies out of contract last I checked and the ruck market looks dire so they'd be far less of a risk to get snapped up.

Perhaps they believe a tall without any AFL experience and a broken foot won't be noticed being picked up again in the rookie draft.

But, I agree there's players on their rookie list closer to the abyss than Knobel.

If the rules change to last disposal it kinda makes rucks a bit more redundant may aswell get 800k off the books and trade Darcy and just use Voss as the back up
