But he is another inside mid with questionable foot skills. Why?If Jess Hogan can turn himself around, so can Oliver

I don't see the world where you make a play for Oliver and keep Darcy. We got enough guys running through the middle, and the only feasible way that changes is Darcy leaves and Jackson takes the #1 ruck mantle.
Its a good argument, but what would it say to the rest off the team.Hogan turned it around from a worst spot.
Not a fair argument given Oliver will cost nothing in terms of draft capital - you can do both. Also, some people think our midfield gets beaten up by bigger bodies and have voiced going after Cripps. Oliver is a solution to that problem if you think its an issue.
That's how it'd have to work. You need to get to 300% centre bounce attendance from the mids (coz there's 3 of them). Brayshaw Serong Young combined gets you north of 200%. Bolton and Jackson will get a decent chunk of the remainder. And then you got basically all our wingers apart from Sharp fighting for the rest. Are you thinking Oliver takes Jackson's midfield time?
As has been mentioned by others, you probably have to ship Darcy out to make it work. Oliver still finished 5th in Melbourne's BnF, he is a better midfield player as it stands then all of the 2nd tier names you mention. Some are concerned our midfield isnt big or deep enough. Wont get many better player to put in there for free then Clarry Oliver AND there is a chance he actually gets back to his best still. But he is another inside mid with questionable foot skills. Why?
He will literally eat into the time of others, and I don't think he will provide us with what we need. If it's to be a defensive minded mid? Are we serious?
Our midfield seems to be: Brayshaw, Serong, Young as absolute locks. Chop outs via Johnson, Bolton, Jackson, Erasmus, Reid and probably others.
I don't get it. I don't even understand it.
PLUS, he is 100% not going to come to Fremantle.

For Oliver to come in, someone has to come out - you can't find ~70% CBA by trimming around the edges.
Oliver is a defensive mid now ?He’s worth the punt.
If he isn’t the character, then delist him and move on.
He’s exactly the build and defensive player we need
Is Derksen a decent DFA add? Not that we need any backs atm but if Cox and Pearce both go down (historically speaking not out of the question) then we're looking a little thin if Draper doesn't come on
Also I think I'm on the Neale train if he wants to come and the price is right. Need some leadership and having 3xGF, 2x premiership experience will be invaluable. Set him up for a coaching role post playing...
Derksen more a forward than a defender from memory? I'm not fussed if he comes or notIs Derksen a decent DFA add? Not that we need any backs atm but if Cox and Pearce both go down (historically speaking not out of the question) then we're looking a little thin if Draper doesn't come on

The way Scott defends Smith makes it seem like he is on the boaderline of the shit hitting the fanAlso, Geelong won’t be in on Oliver now, for the same reason they weren’t looking at juh.
Too much drama with Stengel and smith already
Derksen was under out Nose at peel and we didn't snap him up. Says a lot....Derksen more a forward than a defender from memory? I'm not fussed if he comes or not
Derkson was taken before our pick in the MSD. He'd never nominated for the draft before. The way Scott defends Smith makes it seem like he is on the boaderline of the shit hitting the fan

Also he's on his way to Melbourne.
I wonder if I can find multiple counter examples...Hogan turned it around from a worst spot.

Stengel? Thought he has settled down of recent years ?Also, Geelong won’t be in on Oliver now, for the same reason they weren’t looking at juh.

How cheap (salary wise) would you be interested?I wonder if I can find multiple counter examples...
There is no chance we've gone to all this effort with the choirboys to blow it up for 50% of Oliver.
