In this case, if we have any doubts on Simpson at half back, then McVee is a must for us next year and I'm ok with us doing this trade.

I agree. But not just this trade, also with the Naicos clickbait bullshit earlier today too. Really frustrating when one of the very few trusted journos starts pulling this shit.

Too simplistic an analogy, doesn’t work.

Agree to disagree, can argue it in 3 years time when whoever was pick 33 is probably delisted and McVee is a 3 time premiership player

If Twoomey hasn’t missed a pick somewhere, the trade we committed to with Brisbane and Westcoast is patently bad. It didn’t involve McVee and is not something we need to wait 3-4 years to evaluate. There’s a points index and we had the the best pick (12) it should have cost WC additional points to move up.
