Binns at Carlton is worth a train on. Winger, won the VFL best and fairest in 2023 and only 21.
Got interesting story that's second hand. Good Source.

Binns was playing VFL and dominating. He thought he texted a friend saying that f...en Vossy hates me and refuses play me. Binns sent the text the whole playing group. A week later The Blues had 5 players injured and Vossy didn't play him.

The story is creditable and Vossy is kind of a guy that never backs down.

Give him a go.

If I'm West Coast I'm just going to the draft and taking the two most talented young players in the comp. Why **** around with sliding backwards?

I dunno there's kind of a perfect storm this draft. Questions around even the top end, the best players being academy picks, your list being so shit.

If I were them I'd probably consider something like CDT at 1, trade down the other and pick up Farrow plus whoever else around that range e.g Sharp.

Duursma seems to be settling in as 1 in the rankings but man that would make me nervous with the context around the family so far.

That is my truly expert opinion.

Could just take 1, 2, and 13 though.

Get Duursma, Duff-Tytler, and best of whoever is at 13 (Farrow, Lindsay, Phillipou, Marsh, etc.) and you're set up.

Otherwise you're trying to find the players who slipped down the order in a weak draft when you could just pick the best two out of the gate and leave everyone else sorting through the mess of academy and F/S.
Noones disagreeing with that.
Follow me here - my comment is based on other peoples idea of trading one of those top two picks. Not what I would do. In that scenario (where West Coast are looking to trade pick one or two to get extra top picks) thatd be the way I go about it

I think Carlton are just trying to avoid having to pay him out in 2025. Good luck with that. Would be hilarious if both Binns and Hollands decided to play for Peel this season instead of AFL and pick up their careers in 2027 season. Do we think Carlton has a spare $600k in their cap for 2025? Doubt it.

Walker is 2026 though and the trade was for a 27 F1

Unless they have someone else in 2027 too

They do have Sydney's picks, but I think they are going to have to pay through the nose for upgrades of those two picks next year using those future picks.

Unless they lose free agents next year again. They only have Walsh on that list. So maybe one extra top pick. If they can finish bottom three that will all take care of itself.

I would rather trial Walter White tbh. EH has just burnt bridges with a second club, we have zero track record of being able to turn around players with any issues that are worse than mildly poor attitude

There's a guy actually called Walter White? Let's cook!!

His name is Will White but why let that get in the way of a good time.

Honestly given the squeeze on list spots we are not adding any of these delisted players. For the players I’ve seen posters suggest as train-on we’d have about 20 extra blokes running around at training. We’ll have 1-2 spots (prob 2 if Sturt is added to LTI) and you can only have 2 players for each opened up SSP rookie spot.

If we take two picks in National Draft we'd still have three spots left.

Personally can't see the club drafting much more than one in the rookie draft.

Likely to be at least two spots available if we place Sturt on the LTI.

Wouldn't be surprised if we pre-list one of these delisted guys tbh. Does feel like this board is just throwing random names at a dart board though. Think we could make a decision on a ruck if other clubs start showing interest in the same strategy we seem to be looking at.

We were reportedly interested in Milan Murdoch. Perhaps someone else could be lined up to compete for a list spot. I don’t mind Clohessy but who are you proposing from the delisted players as I don’t see a lot interest in any others.

Will Phillips, Ben Hobbs, Jaxon Binns are all very average.

Oscar McDonald added as a delisted free agent onto the senior list when we potentially could have put him on the rookie list, so I'm thinking there's more to that decision than meets the eye and the same could be true of other players.

But is a running winger that big of a structural hole on our list?

I didn't think Binns was bad at all when he played at the level this year. He's aggressive, gets to good positions, if anything needs to put some muscle on.
Hollands can GTFO.
Willard White no thanks.
Clohesy might be worth a look at, looks a resilient type.

Duff-Tyler is the problem I think. If you don't want him, trade the pick to a club that does.

Sorry for the intrusion, but on the Essendon board, we're doing a mock draft and people have nominated to run the draft for a team.

I've got the honour of running Freo's draft (you're my second favourite team so I ain't mad about it). I'm really struggling to find holes in your list. Maybe a wing, or a distributor off half back if a good one falls? Or a small defender? You're stacked with your spine and midfield so I was leaning towards just going best player available, but interested in hearing from people who know the club way better than me what kind of players you're hoping to target in the draft.

Also any NGA prospects worth bidding on?
