Anyone else here seen The West’s report on Jackson?
**** me.

What the **** is our luck that we lure a player here who wants to come home to his family only for him to end up dating a Victorian who’s 10 years his senior leading to (rightly or wrongly) massive issues with his family that are so bad he needs to get out of the state.

Clearly great at luring players over, very much struggle to keep them. Culture issue?

Like I said, more Ellis on HBG then Gawn trolling with that one for mine.

I agree we are still talking about effectively the same story with no change but that's how it's going to be until trade period with a contracted player. There is absolutely something there, just dont know how much.

Just on the Ellis stuff, Jack Heverin was over from Victoria to call the Freo game on Triple MMM. I suspect it may have been him who told Ellis.

I'm quite sure there will be a trade request and we will agree to trade him. Player managers run the AFL.

It’s 100% true. They don’t actually make this stuff up like people want to believe.

And the club is so ****ing soft that they’ll let Jackson go like they do whenever there’s “family issues.”

We need to ****ing say no and players need to tell grow some balls and stop letting their girlfriends wear the pants in the relationship
He’s very obviously someone that is very easily influenced by the people around him and can’t think for himself. Both sides are ****ing him around.

Melbourne had three long contracted players wanting out last year and said **** you you’re staying to all three. Fremantle need to tell Jackson the same thing. They won’t bc they’re a soft ass club but seriously.

Someone post the article please
Fremantle superstar Luke Jackson wants to leave the Dockers and is expected to request a trade back to Melbourne at the end of the season, it can be revealed.
The West Australian understands Jackson wants to return to the Demons — where he won a premiership in 2021 — on the back of significant off-field issues which himself, the club and management have addressed in recent weeks.
It comes after 7NEWS reporter Mitch Cleary exclusively revealed in March rival clubs, headlined by the Demons, were “monitoring Jackson’s situation.”
Fremantle sits in the box seat in any future negotiations as Jackson’s seven-year deal with the club runs til 2029.
The Dockers are also heavily pursuing a trade for contracted Melbourne small forward Kysaiah Pickett, who is contracted to Melbourne til the end of 2027.
Melbourne president Brad Green attempted to douse any talk on Pickett’s future earlier this season, saying it would take “two or three” first-round selections in return for Pickett’s signature.
Any move for Jackson could form part of a transaction.
The Dockers yesterday would not comment on Jackson’s off-field issues, saying only that players regularly accessed welfare services and that he was “contracted and a required player”.
Asked at Tuesday’s press conference, whether anything had changed on the Dockers position on Jackson, Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir said: “Nothing, nothing.”
Jackson is also believed to be in the process of changing his management and is believed to be interested in only a shift back to Melbourne and not any other Victorian clubs.
Gawn made a cryptic reference to Jackson when speaking on Triple M on Monday.
“WA is an unbelievable to place to be when you’re 18, 19, like it’s a great party and these Perth boys go back at 22 and all their mates have sort of grown up a bit,” Gawn said.
The Dockers trained on Tuesday.
“There’s so many people that got a trade back to WA and then came back, not mentioning one that potentially could be coming back soon ... let’s hope.”
Jackson, a gun junior basketballer who chose football, was drafted to Melbourne with pick three in the 2019 national draft.
He has maintained a close relationship with his Melbourne premiership coach Simon Goodwin and not surprisingly, many of his flag winning teammates since joining the Dockers ahead of the 2023 season.
The Demons would see Jackson as a long-term replacement for Gawn, who turns 34 later this year.
Jackson said in March he would “definitely” be staying in purple long term.
“I love Freo, I love playing at Freo and I’ve always wanted to play here since I was a little kid,” he said.
“I grew up supporting the club and I always remember watching the games, so I’ll definitely be here and I’ve loved my time here.”
However, it is believed his off-field issues have escalated since that point.
Fremantle has future ruck depth with Jackson, Sean Darcy, Liam Reidy, Odin Jones and Aiden Riddle.
But Darcy’s struggle for form and fitness since returning from injury and his pairing with Jackson has been a hot topic in recent weeks.
Jackson’s uncertain tenure could trigger Fremantle’s interest in Collingwood ruckman Darcy Cameron, a West Australian who becomes a free agent at the end of this season.
