Yes. I would start at #12 for Simpkin and #23.As also someone who wants him, my read is completely different. Both parties are keen for the break-up and any public reasoning is rubbish. Pick 11 is actually overs going off the North board, we'd get some good salary (hes overpaid) chucked in and a pick back
You should see the garbage he sends me in my dms.
They sound like the kind of trades Geelong would doCan easily get all 3 just between our first three picks with some change

Remember everyone North foolishly traded their first this year (currently #3) in 2024 and so right now they only enter the draft at #23. For a club in North's position that is terrible.
They need a mid-1st rounder like #12 way more than a midfielder they are pushing out of their midfield.

He always looks off balance and ungainly to me. I'm not sure his ceiling is much higher than the best he's already shown.NOD has been a very difficult player to get a handle on as to his trajectory towards becoming a solid AFL player.
He is capable of kicking a goal from the 50 metre arc at times and some very lack lustre stuff at other times.
Has had some injury concerns but he needs to get some consistency soon. It's hard to predict how his career is going to be over the next few seasons. At his best he is in our best team.

Need to weed out the hot and cold players and the ones that don’t stand up in big momentsHe always looks off balance and ungainly to me. I'm not sure his ceiling is much higher than the best he's already shown.
I won’t be surprised if Nod doesn’t end up at port this year ?
Another Will Brodie? What an absolute joke.Simpkin is not very good.. another Will Brodie.. no way a first rounder.. he is no Petracca
McVee should be worth pock 42?McVee - out of contract (~pick 42)
Jai Serong - out of contract. 10 games in 4 years (~pick 69 or an upgraded pick)
Simpkin - 4 years left (~pick 12 maybe future picks back our way)
This is what these guys ‘should’ cost.
McVee I can understand going for 32.
Serong shouldn’t be worth anything.
Simpkin, well he won’t come here, so no point really talking about him.
When the Simpkin to freo news going break ?
Struggling to see where you're going here tbh.Anyone got the points chart?
Gold Coast have 6, 7 (Flanders) 14, 17 and 34
They have Petracca to get in plus Uwland, Patterson likely top 5/10 and Addinsall top 20-30
We have 11, 32, 42, 51.
I’m wondering if Gold Coast can get Petracca for one of 6/7 and a future first would 11 be enough to get us 14 and 34? Would we want that?
McVee's worth our second and one of our thirds easily in my opinion.McVee should be worth pock 42?
He's a bloody good player who I'd have zero hesitation handing over pick 20 for if we actually had that selection.
Out of contract doesn't mean you can offer half the player's value. It means that Melbourne cant tell us to 'go get pick 20 or go **** yourselves'.
The trade drops to late 20s at worst given he's out of contract. Freo and Melbourne will work together for a fair deal - They'll be no screwing each other over.
Struggling to see where you're going here tbh.
Care to explain the logic why we'd even consider this?
I was wondering if this might happen especially with Brad Scott being his former coach? When Jammo or CTD post it. It sounds like Essendon are looking at him to replace Merrett.

Out-of-contract Hawks young gun makes call on new AFL home amid five-club race

Seems down to Sydney or Freo for Jai. The Fox article indicates Hawks won’t stand in his way. Looks most likely that a trade for primary list spot will be required. A later pick - prob one we receive from either Brodie or Reidy would get the job done.
So no he won’t be at Hawthorn next year.
179 points in GCs favour.
Not sure that’s enough for them to consider.
I’d like to move pick 12 in some way.
There’s not much I find interesting in this years draft. Was keen on Farrow but McVee now covers that positional need. No guarantee we’d get him at 12 too.
Serong is much better than Reidy, he'll cost a little bit more.Serong is worth about the same in trade as Reidy IMO. Has Reidy nominated a club? Straight swap?
