The only reason BB was even there was injuries, initially anyway. Towards the end of the season they didn't want to take the risk on swapping him out for Simpson or Walker.
Been saying this for sometime now. It's why (IMO) we should be slightly biased to drafting Vic kids compared to WA kids, it's the only way to get them over.
Can always attempt to pry the WA kids back later
Pretty much what I think, with fully fit depth in the backline Banfield can move back to the forward line or even the midfield. The only reason BB was even there was injuries, initially anyway. Towards the end of the season they didn't want to take the risk on swapping him out for Simpson or Walker.
After a full preseason and with McVee coming in it is nearly impossible to see BB still playing down back. If Reid does go midfield then BB will likely return to being forward line depth.

That means nothing since it's likely neither would make our starting backline.Jai would have been better than Banfield in the backline

Well yes, you'd assume as such. He's probably first in when someone gets injured though. At Peel
In beforeWill admit I really enjoyed the rush I got seeing us seriously linked to another player. More of that please?
As soon as we’re linked to a player I’ll convince myself they’re a good fit for the teamIn before
"Fremantle join the Clayton Oliver party"
Yeah I'm pretty down bad for some links, damn, I'd even convince myself Tim Kelly was a good pickup if he ended up linked to us.As soon as we’re linked to a player I’ll convince myself they’re a good fit for the team

Yeah it’s this idea where everyone who’s talked up jai as slotting straight into our backline always brings up Banfield and worner as who he replaces…. As if their minds go immediately blank at the same time ,forgetting who’s already on our list and wasn’t in the team for our finalSo would Walker and Simpson and McVee
They should walk Starcevich through the PSD for the good of the competition tbh.![]()

We have Draper in the wings for Ryans spot and Chapman could also play that third tallRyan getting older
Playing Banfield over other actual backs
Then we are going to upgrade a very ordinary winger in Sharp. We are tight for list spots. I'd have liked Jai Serong he was terrific in the VFL

banners could die laying a game-saving premiership winning tackle in a grand final for freo and some of you campaigners will still be here complaining about him
“Two Serongs don’t make a right, Jai chooses Sydney”
