Thats a great point - even a very experienced Geelong side in round 1 (shudder) couldn't stop the bleeding during the third quarter. Was a completely different story after the last break though
So all we need to do is switch it up at the start of every 4th quarter and we will go undefeated next year!
All of that is great advice.Taylor's shin splint advice: Bulk out your conditioning runs on grass. Buy new shoes. Stretch your baby moos. Don't over stride, especially when running downhill. Work hard up the hills and cruise down them. You can run in compression socks mostly for your own awareness but you'll be the most fashionable pavement pounder as a by-product.
Drink lots of water. Get lots of sleep. I prefer using hot water in the shower on my sore spots now over icing, draws more blood to the area - will report on results after a longer period of trials.

Prelim finals in recent years almost exclusively the preserve of sides stacked with good small and medium forwards that apply pressure and tackle like maniacs from the first bounce yet some Posters think we apparently have enough in that position?I thought the term used was “didn’t defend well enough” which is more broad and can mean anything from not running two ways to not defending the outlets as opposed to specifically pressuring and tackling in our forward half.
Seeing as our tackle i50 numbers have been below average 5 out of 6 of the years under JL I’d say he either doesn't have the players to play that way or he doesn’t value forward pressure, maybe both.
The one year we had good tackle i50 numbers was 2022 which is coincidentally our best season under JL, we were 4th in the league that year for tackles i50. Besides that year we’ve been 15th, 18th, 11th, 12th and 13th in the same statistic.

Yeah I have achilles issues which make running a nightmare, cycling has been a great find.I solved my running problems by taking up cycling![]()

Hopefully in the approved bigfooty fashioned: i.e. fully immersed.I solved mine by treading water with a 10kg weight strapped to my waist.
That wasn’t another Mems special was it? I can’t rememberI solved mine by treading water with a 10kg weight strapped to my waist.

No they just lost their VFL linense. Pretty sure the club still exists.Did the bull ants die this offseason, or was that just click bait I didn’t click on?
Good read. I like the idea. If wallsy's keen, I'm keen. Can't wait for Geelong to nab him 1 spot ahead of us and be lauded as geniuses again.https://archive.md/qmmnv - Worth a read
Is he? The article above dated this year saying he's gone from local U18.5 (whatever that means) in 2024 into the VFL. Wouldn't that mean he was 18 last year and 19 this year?
His stats are underwhelming ... 5.7 in 18 VFL games, but if he is still a kid playing against men (and for the wooden spooner team where the forwards would be starved of opportunity), then who knows.
With where our list is at, it would be better if he's 21.I managed to find a team sheet with the new players listed and said he was 21.
I'll dig it up for you. https://vflfooty.com/2025-vfl-r1-footscray-v-northern-bullants
NEW: Yuyu Ashwin, 20, 184cm, Collingwood VFL; Liam Coghlan, 23, 186cm, Port Melbourne; Riley Greene, 23, 191cm, Brisbane Lions VFL; Will Madden, 26, 193cm, Essendon VFL; Christopher Scerri, 21, 177cm, Strathmore; Kaden Schreiber, 23, 188cm, Collingwood VFL; Liam Taylor, 25, 181cm, North Ringwood; Giorgio Varagiannis, 23, 179cm, GWS VFL; Jackson Weideman, 25, 190cm, North Albury
I thought initially it might be a jumper number because like you I was sure he was a teenager given how they talk about him moving straight to VFL footy. Perhaps his post was just wrong?

He's 19 (see below)
"Youngster Chris Scerri claimed the coveted Reg Rose Medal as the best on ground with an eye-catching performance on the big stage.
The 19-year-old has had an incredible first season of senior footy and cemented his spot as one of the brightest young stars across the competition, not just in the EDFL but at VFL level as well.
It was the zippy midfielder’s burst and speed from stoppages that set him apart, winning a game-high 13 clearances from his 26 disposals"
Also listed as 19 on the AFL app stats tab + on the wheeloratings VFL tab. Think they just got his age wrong at one stage - a FB post linking the CodeSports article has a comment talking about them initially stuffing up his age.
