Shin splints were a huge issue in my previous profession, which placed a premium on fitness and running. I had them for years. Heaps of physio, shoes, orthotics, different surfaces etc… no difference

Guy at work eventually passed on a program he had found; 3 months later, no more shin splints. That was nearly 20 years ago and I’ve not had another issue. I also found just one physio who had a taping technique for it that worked great for games.

If anyone wants to give either a go, chuck me a DM
I had shin splint one year to the point i could barely go for a light walk. Used this cream and they went away with in a couple of weeks and have never had them since. Send some the Sharpy pls. Im bullish on him recapturing his form from his first year here. One of the few players that can have a ping from outside the arc in our team!

How come Patrick Voss is only signed up until 2026 ??? surely you would want at least 3 years. Watch them all come after him next year.
He signed this contract in September 2024, coming off scoring 7.11 in 7 AFL games and 28.21 in 11 WAFL games. Backup talls don't get 3 years, and I don't imagine he'd have wanted to lock in that long either. If you're a backup and sign too long an extension, every chance when a club comes sniffing your exit gets blocked.

Now that he's broken out, he's gonna get the big extension. And judging by what we did with JT, we would've given Voss the big extension this off-season anyways. Not to count chickens before they hatch, but of the 2026 out-of-contract group, he's probably 1 of the guys I'm least worried about re-signing. Him + Switta will be the 2 we try to get done before next season's started.

Here is a question, will Freo put Sturt on the long-term injury list before the final list lodgement? So, we have the option to use an extra pick?

The extra pick would only be in the rookie draft and that process can take place after preseason has begun, to be filled in the supplemental period post draft.

Freo could delist Sturt to rookie list him and it would open a list spot - Sturt who would be a free agent end of 2026 anyway.

I don't think we'll do that because the cost to the spare cap we would be rolling forward would be Sturts full salary for this year whereas we would only save 100k in the following by running 36 and 7 next year instead of 37 and 6 (with Sturt on the LTi in both cases but counted here for clarity).
This is in the event of a bid for academy player after we had already used two main draft picks.
