Back by popular demand. However...

There has been some aggro from publishers of articles in recent months about sites that copypasta their content onto other sites, particularly the paywalled ones, which could lead to fines and whanot for those that do it. Apparently there are copywrite laws for these things. As a result we can no longer have full articles reposted here, so if you come across something then please refrain from nabbing the whole thing and just post the link. Quoting a paragraph or two and linking the source is fine however, just don't get greedy.

Here's the updated site-wide rule: https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/please-read-re-copyright-posting-newspaper-articles.1389553/

Here's an example of what you can do:

"If West Coast was the gold standard for how to operate, then Fremantle's arrival into the AFL in 1995 could be viewed as a series of cautionary tales.

Despite eight wins in that debut season, a series of poor recruiting choices meant they didn't play their first final until 2003."

If they believe that us not making finals until 2003 was solely due to "a series of poor recruiting choices" then I have a bridge to sell them.

Thanks for your understanding.

My screen was already damaged from the Merrett clearance.

there were at least 5 games that could have gone our way. I think that stat was we won one of the 6 games won by a goal or under (including Carlton game)

I attended two games for the year, Carlton and Essendon.

Warning - I am attending Melbourne this year, so you know where to put the money for that week.

This is what shits me

Why do we always when in front in the dying minutes don't man up the opposition and instead all stand defensive side of the contest?

We lost the ruck knock and happened against Sydney. The only difference is that Logan missed the goals
They were defensive side of the contest in the Essendon game because their opponents decided they wanted to set up on their defensive side of the contest. I'm not even sure what you think you saw as they were all clearly manned up. You can't all man up or you can't defend space, if didn't pay to do that we'd all still be playing man on man all the time like it's pre 2005.

Equally I'm sure Youngy will never allow his opponent the outside position behind a tap at a centre bounce we are trying to kill again.

out of 7 games decided by 2 goals or under - 1 win, 1 draw, 4 losses, 1 Carlton free pass

out of 4 games decided by a goal or under - 1 win, 1 draw, 2 losses.

Bolton alone is worth 2 goals a game (GL + GA) so I think we will see the trend reverse in '25.

Last season he got lost in the Reid love a couple of times. The first time I could fault him for it.

To be fair to him, find me one person in the media that didn't.

Was a rough year for bad clearances. Some good examples in previous years though. Geelong in Geelong comes to mind as a recent one.

I don't mind him showing passion, Reid at times did some special things.

He did say Reid is a 70% chance to leave West Coast, if that helps.

He is one of the few people I like.

Don't read this as a 'I don't like Ryan' thing. Just that for the first time last season there was a couple of times he got carried away cheering and sometimes in overblown ways for Reid.

A 6-1 Eagles to Freo panel is dumb decision making.

Baby John Burgess once called the Channel 7 Pageant and set new "Ooower missus" records by saying of some dancing girls as they went by, "They really are a clutch of tarts - whoops, I mean a touch of class."

I actually don’t mind Readings either. I know he’s not exactly a source of breaking news or cutting edge analysis - but he’s such a good sport when Will Schofield takes the piss out of him on Backchat that I can’t help but like him
Yeah he's good. A bit too old school at times but seems like a genuine bloke.

Dani Shuey is described as a 'leading Perth broadcaster'. It seems a pretty quick ascent if you're tight with the West Coast clique. Hasnt she only been on the radio for a couple of years in the drive timeslots?

No offence to Dani, but surely somebody like Emma O'Driscoll would offer so much more for the viewers 🤷‍♂️
