Mate at the club said emails went out a month ago but I definitely didn't get one. Soooo yeah I have nfi.

We received our emails about it...We were getting ready to take a couple of the grandkids tomorrow but have now been told the have either the flu or covid. So its now a wait and see if they are well enough..If not then we will do something else..

Can you paste the email here? So weird - I've seen others complain they miss emails from the club, but I've had a good run personally and don't typically miss these emails. But yeah, I didn't get this one.

Maybe it's the cynic in me but the 'spaces are limited ' says maybe not everyone got sent an email.
A Joey shouldn't be missing out because their parents didn't check their spam... should have been plastered all over the website/socials etc as well.

Our point of difference should be access to our players for the kids. The fact so many of us have not received the invite isn’t good enough

Just got an email from the club telling me that Syd Barker tickets would roll over and have an automatic debit during August.

I called them to opt out.

I don’t remember opting in.

An automatic opt in for 2-4 tickets where the tickets are ~$300 is nuts. Especially if this is not something I actively chose.

No saying I won’t go but f*** some of the things we do just seem like money grabbing.

For several decades I couldn't imagine not being a NMFC member. I'm not saying I won't continue next year, but it's certainly not being considered until we see what's served up for at least a month into the H&A season of 2026.

Things have to change.

One more year of premium membership from me, then I’ll get something more reflective of what the club gives back.
No emails about kids events, double billing that takes weeks to sort out, nothing substantial in terms of communication about why we have been so shot for so long.
I’m sure they will continue to get hold of me for raffle ticket and shop sales though.

You probably want to check your Auto renew situation first. You know, where they take your money, sometimes without asking, sometimes increasing stuff you don’t want

We are losing young supporters and that does not augur well for the future. My two nieces, early teens, both strong supporters, haven't been to a game this year, won't watch the game on TV and just have little interest now. One is suggesting she has changed teams. They both just got sick of us losing and the players looking like they really don't care. I do some part time work in a secondary college - same. I know the NM kids and some of them have already changed teams for the same reason. Some others still identify as NM fans but no longer go to games. We are losing young supporters - this is the time to make them members for life. Why would they? We have a team that is totally unaccountable. A team who run out each week with zero expectation of winning. We have possible the worst captain in the AFL. We have the team in the AFL with the worst skills - unarguable. Why? How long have we had to correct this? What are our specialist coaches doing? Why can't we hit a target at 25 metres by hand or foot? Why? Why do we kick to uneven contests? Why do we not chase (some exceptions)? We compete, fall over, and then just struggle to our feet and jog off. Zero heart. And it has been like this for at least 5 years or more. We are devoid of leadership on and off the field. After 63 years of consecutive membership this is the most embarrassed I have ever been of our team and our club.

I pay in person at Arden St, no card on file. We're not the only club or organisation that does the auto renew, that stuff drives me nuts

I've been told by the membership department if you sign up to your membership online, it includes an Auto-renewal as a condition of service with the club. If you don't want that auto renewal, you have to ring and cancel it.

I spoke with Ross Glendinning when he was over for Centenary game and he said something to me that I hadn't thought about in regards to why I have and will always be a member. He said "You are rusted on just like my daughter and that will never change" and you know what he is right. At the end of the day, I wouldn't have it any other way.
