The two are likely not independent. As I’ve already commented in this thread, other clubs may hqve lost interest in bidding on King knowing we’d match the bid and with “making us pay the price” or eliminating our later picks not really being relevant. Especially after pick 35 came and went.

People should also remember O’Keefe was a pick 50 something. Malceski and Schneider pick 60s. Good players do emerge from the lower reaches of the draft. Sometimes. (And that’s ignoring the rookie draft.)

And I think this will eventually help. He has the attributes to be a really special player. Lots of work to do of course, however I have confidence he will get there.

Well those who wanted midfielders got your wish. One inside mature body and a Chad/Heeney clone.
Kyle likely to end up in the midfield or at worst a dynamic HBF.
Hopefully we haven't forgotten Max King.
Assume we take Lloyd and Rampe as Cat A and Chamberlain and McNamara as Cat B. Tall winger/HF and a probable utility.

If he's actually a Chad/Heeney clone I'll be ecstatic
