I’m also a big fan of LeRay. He stood out with his kicking in the first game v Allies and as been consistently impactful since.

One I’m hoping to go under the radar is Taj Murray. 199cm ruck/forward from the NT. He was excellent in the first game vs SA. Great athleticism in the ruck then went forward and kicked 4 goals. I rate him.

Not exactly news but Sharp has been bloody impressive I reckon. Great all-round game and clear #1 for me. Perfect modern midfielder.
Murray looked pretty good, athletic, lightly framed, but then I guess so is Schubert and Ludowyke.
If he keeps playing like that he'll turn some heads. Ah-Mu and Curtin look a bit bigger frames.
Will be interesting to see who rises and drops come year end.

With the general consensus being that a SA inside mid is going to go #1, I wonder if Port try and cash in on Butters this year and somehow end up with Sharp

Not sure how'd we do the deal, probably have to be a combo of our Future 1st pick, Powell and Durs but geez I'd love to land Butters if he's coming back to Victoria.

Something like:
WCE give up pick 1 - Receive NM future 1st and Durs
Port give up Butters - Receive Powell and pick 1
NM give up Future 1st, Durs and Powell - Recieve Butters.

Seems reasonable enough!

Stop the Powell trades.

And even moreso, stop the Duursma trades.

Trade up. Even if it's just for one player like Dovaston or Schubert.

I think it will be a bit of a crap shoot from pick 30 beyond (which is where our 2nd rounders will land). Considering the poor depth and lack of high end talent I don't think clubs like GC will be getting big draft pick hauls for their existing picks, so I think our 2 x R2 will be very very valuable to the right sides.
Agree. The only problem would be it would take 20 (757), 21 (721) & 39 (257) to trade up for say GC pick 13 (1443 pts) to give them a points gain of 292. But that would leave us with only pick 13 and 57. Not great.
Even a small trade up with 20/21 and 39 to Lions or GC picks 16-18 doesn't give them much points gain.
Otherwise, using player trades (Scott? Phillips? Ford?) and/or futures to generate more points may be needed.
But there might be a team that has enough points and just wants 20/21 and a F2/F3, so wait and see what happens.

Interested to see how Tauru’s career unfolds. I’m one who is glad we held 2 and took fos. Also very happy with Whitlock. Was wondering what the more keen draft watchers thought of him as a fwd vs back. Watching his clips, I was much more excited of this work (marking in particular) forward of the ball than his intercepting. I saw him projecting as a curnow/caddy type of key fwd that would’ve been perfect next to larkey.

A player with utmost ability. I really like Alex, his potential is right up there don't worry about that, he can play anywhere but his attacking nature and his marking are so good, his marking reminds me of Nick Riewoldt to a tee, a future gun.🧐

With all the talk about how shallow this years draft pool is. Can pretty much bank on it turning out to be a super draft.
Lol it might be okay with development, but not looking like last years super draft.
But I guess the better players are mostly tied to other clubs, so the available talent is shallow.

Is there really a kid named Wes Walley?
Yes. Spotted as an infant under a bush by a grieving wedge-tailed eagle mother, then nurtured in the Eagles' Nest where baby Wes learned to walk, then run, and then kick and mark (handball optional). It's a heartwarming story, the very best of football dreams-can-come-true, and another win/win for AFL equalisation, AFL-style.
